Foot prints

So I am attempting to make this for DH for Father's Day. Any tips for doing the footprints?

    sleep, thin layer of paint painted directly onto the foot, or ink.

    Brush on the paint, don't dip the foot.

    Just did one like this for the grandmas Mother's Day gift- he cooperated overall make sure you pay attention to the toes and they don't wiggle them otherwise they look like a blob- we did a practice run in paper first and then did the real thing on a canvas
