    We already did part 1 of a two part blood test (forgot the name of it) and if my doctor didn't mention doing any additional scans, then it's all good. I was more worried that an NT scan was something you were supposed to get and I wasn't getting one. It may not be offered to everyone in my small town anyways. Even though I do want to make sure everything is okay with the baby since this is my first, and take all the testing that is offered, I trust my doctor if he didn't mention it. My family doesn't have a history of abnormalities that I can recall. But again, it would have been nice to see my baby and its heartbeat one more time before my 20 week scan. I'm sure my doctor will be running the Doppler during my appointment next Monday and if I can hear its heart beat, I'll be a happy momma. :)

    I'm 38 so it was prescribed. I also got the Materni T21, but that was optional.

    We don't have any risk factor's and my ob doesn't push it at all b/c he says they tend to get a lot of false positives, so we aren't doing any genetic testing. We'll love the baby God gives us and there's nothing we can do if a baby is going to have a genetic disorder anyway.

    I don't live in America... I'm in Australia and your 12 scan is optional... I'm getting it done next week basically for peace of mind that everything's okay because here they don't test you at all until past three months so I'm not even sure everything's okay. It's up to you. They say here the scan is only 30% accurate because it's only new.

    I didn't get one, my sister had one and it came up with a Down syndrome marker and she worried her whole pregnancy about it and my niece was born and didn't have Down syndrome so all that worrying was for nothing. I have also known people that have had it come back normal and there has been complications at birth. So in my opinion I can't control any of it, why needlessly worry about any of if.
