Inspired from the spam thread. Do you give your LO snacks between meals? Right now I feel like BFing is her "snacks" but I think I would like to start offering her more food during the day. What are your go-to snacks for LO?
DD loves Cheerios so I think I will keep a container in her play room. She also really like peas and I've given her a container of peas to snack on in the stroller before. I find pouches are also great. SHe can eat one on her without too much mess. I've started to give her a snack around 4:30/5:00 since we don't eat dinner until 6.
After reading the Spam thread I'm wondering if more snacks will help her nap better.
J loves cheerios, goldfish, applesauce and vanilla greek yogurt as snacks. He loves fruits (berries) and cut up veggies, but those are harder to pack on the go. Plus, the berries are super messy.
Ok totally going to buy some of those banana cookies for J... He likes the gerber granduate strawberry wheat thins-looking snacks a lot, but these sound even better.
Cheerios, dried cranberries or raisins, Gold Fish, pouches, or string cheese. The string cheese is an after the afternoon nap snack. She gets so excited!
Just wanted to make a Pedi comment. Please be careful letting your LO wander around with food in his/her mouth. I worry about accidentally choking/aspirating!
We don't exactly do snacks yet, although we will give him a few Cheerios or puffs while his dinner is cooking if he can't wait. When we do start doing snacks, we will do stuff like fresh fruit, cheese, yogurt, and Cheerios. Peaches, pears, bananas, and plums are great for fruits because if they are ripe enough, we don't need to steam them for LO to be able to chew them.
In premade bought snacks he has yogurt melts, fruit and veggie melts, puffs or the little arrowroot cookies. We mostly chop up fruit or cheese, or give him a yogurt when we can get him to sit still with us for any length of time.
This may be my UO, but I'm going to try to not offer snacks in hopes of encouraging more substantial eating at meal time. For now she gets bottles as "snacks," but when she is on table food 100% of the time, I just can't get behind snacking.

Maybe I'll eat my hat in a few months time.
My mom always talks about how one of her earliest, most vivid memories is of being really hungry and not allowed to eat anything until dinner. She remembers being totally miserable and getting stomach aches because she just needed a snack. Growing kids need a lot of food, and they need it pretty often. It burns a lot of calories to do all the growing and developing that their bodies are trying to do and their little stomaches can't hold that much food at once.

This makes no sense. I don't plan on having her snack all day, but there's no way I expect DD to go from lunch at noon to dinner at 6:00 without anything in between. That sounds crazy.
I'm more of a snacker too so with me being home with Grayson all day we will probably snack. Right now he snacks on Cheerios, pumpernickel bread/cream cheese, bananas, pouches, cereal bars, and basically whatever else I am eating at that moment. He wants all the food. All the time lol
Hmmm we do Cheerios but not many more snacks. She doesn't seem to be hungry or want more snacks and sleeps fine but now I'm wondering if I should encourage more snacking!! She eats a lot at breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and has 4 bottles on top of those meals. Now you guys have me over thinking things!
