Doctor TB

Anyone have experience with frequent urinary tract infections (5+ a year)? My doctor and I have been working on trying to figure out the problem for a little under two years (stopped investigating while pregnant). Just wondered if anyone else had this problem and had any insight.

I used to get them a lot. When I was a kid, bubble bath was a huge problem. Then as an adult it was dehydration and not peeing immediately after DTD. I haven't gotten one in years now (knocks on wood)

  • Unfortunately, I do all of these things and still get them. But thanks for the help!

I get them frequently. I find that if I drink 3 glasses if water when I feel one coming on, I can usually catch it before it starts

  • You can take an antibiotic once after having sex, that works usually if it's related to that
  • not me but I know a few people that have chronic UTI issues (my mom & SIL).  I guess some people are more prone to it.  Tips I've heard from them are of course the obvious ones that PPs already mentioned like wiping front to back, regular showering, not using bubble bath, etc.  But also some other things that helped them are drinking cranberry juice or taking cranberry pills (helped my mom a ton!), & also actually using wipes to wipe yourself after using the bathroom instead of TP, I guess it keeps things cleaner?  Both those things together have helped them a lot.  Sorry you have to deal with that so often, I hope you find something that helps!

I used to get them frequently. The guy I was seeing before MH was rather well-endowed. (Not that MH isn't, but in comparison, this guy was just more) I believe it caused too much friction/pressure/irritation or whatever to my UT.  I stopped getting them once I stopped dating him. I kinda recognize the feeling when DH & I are DTD a little more on the rough side & I know I need to back him off to prevent getting one.

    Peeing after sexy time helps!

  • My younger sister got them a lot until we found out she was a diabetic. Once that was under control they slowed but she still gets them.

My SIL gets them when she stresses herself out too much.
