We started preparing for our nursery last week. The room was previously a nursery with a border and wallpaper below the chair rail. The border was super easy to take down using the steamer. The wall paper below the chair rail is a different story. We scored it and using the steamer, it is still really difficult to get off, and leaves the backing on a lot of the wall. Additionally, some of the paste must have been super strong, because when we took off the wallpaper, the paint came off too so now we see drywall.
This project is taking forever and thankfully we have time, but anyone else have to go through this pain for their nursery? For such a tiny room, it will probably take us a month to get the room in order. We have the paint picked out and the nursery furniture is arriving today, which we will store in an other bedroom until we are done.
Re: Wallpaper removal-vent
At least you have the time. Just in case though, LO won't mind if his/her room isn't finished until after he or she arrives so don't let yourself get anxious about it.
