I am so sorry to hear this. Deciding to let a pet go is one of the hardest things you can do, but it's a very selfless and compassionate decision. She's lucky to have had an owner like you!
I had to put my sweet boxer, Chloe, down a couple years ago. I chose to have her put down at home under her favorite tree, and to stay with her and she passed, curled up in my lap. While it was one of the hardest things I've ever done, I will never, ever regret being there with her, or holding her in her last moments.
So many thoughts and prayers going out to you during this tough time.
That's such a beautiful way to have things end, @BatMacy, I'm tearing up just thinking about that and wishing I could have had my sweet boy put down at home.

Oh no. I'm so sorry I missed this yesterday. This is just more than one person should have to handle. Losing a fur baby is heartbreaking. My T&Ps are with you.
What a sweet, beautiful pup. I am so sorry you have to say goodbye to her. I am absolutely sure that she knows how much you love her. My thoughts and prayers are with you. ::Big hugs::

Thank you all so much. She's an angel now. I spent as much time with her as I could the last couple days, and she was actually feeling better than she had been in a while. That made it even harder because I kept thinking maybe we were making a mistake - but I didn't want to see her decline and suffer. I suppose it's a blessing though that her last few days were good ones. We pampered her and fed her lots of little scraps of chicken and cheese and she loved it!
When the time came, my parents and sister and I all went in the room and pet her. It was so so hard - everyone was sobbing, even my dad and sister who NEVER cry. I'm glad I was there in her last moments.
((Hugs)) to all of you who have also gone through this, and thank you again for your support and advice.
They are only here for such a short time but they sure fill your heart and your home with so much love and joy. May the memories of your sweet girl always bring you joy.
Love is like infinity: You can't have more or less infinity, and you can't compare two things to see if they're "equally infinite." Infinity just is, and that's the way I think love is, too.

What a beautiful girl! I have a 14 year old rottie so I know how it feels to watch your pet get older. I am sending you so many positive thoughts and hugs that you can be at peace knowing that your sweet girl is at peace and in no pain. ((hugs))
