  I would recommend going to a place like Buy Buy Baby if you have one near you.  You can see what the seats look like, and actually have them installed in your car to see if you like how it fits.

  
  

  Your carseat choice may also be driven by what you intend to use for a stroller.   If you're going to use a frame (like Snap N Go) then you'll want to investigate the options that work with the carseat you've chosen.  Not all are compatible.
