PP bleeding at 8 weeks

Hi all,

I am from March 14 and had an unplanned emergency c section on March 7 due to pre-eclampsia. It took a while for my BP to come down to normal so I stayed in the hospital 5 days.

It is now 8 weeks PP and I am STILL bleeding. I don't know if what I'm having now is a period but I have not stopped bleeding since the birth. I did call my dr, they said as long as I wasn't soaking through a pad in an hour it was ok. I am nowhere near bleeding that heavy, but EIGHT WEEKS? Anyone experienced this or heard of it?

There was a similar thread on here about pp bleeding and it didn't seem like anyone bled that long.

    I would say everyone is different and you should listen to your doctor rather than freak yourself out over online comments...

    This but if you are really concerned, call your doctor again after another week.

    Also, are you really active?  I bled off and on for 4-5 weeks but noticed that any time I pushed myself too much, did too much or was really active, the bleeding would return and/or get heavier.  It would be simple activities like carrying the laundry basket, climbing stairs, taking frequent or longish walks.... all activities were owed by the dr too.  If you've been doing a lot with your LO and around the house, that could cause the bleeding to continue.  Good excuse to kick your feet up!  GL!

    I was march 14 and am 7 weeks pp after RCS. I spotted/bled for about 6 or so weeks. Finally stopped and now I have what I am assuming is my period. So it can be your period. Are you breastfeeding or pumping?

    My ob said to expect my period 2-4 weeks after I stopped breast feeding. So if you still are, it likely isn't a period.. Just never ending pp bleeding. I'm sorry :(. Hang in there, it can't last forever.

    With my first (also a C) bled for 3 weeks.  With my second C it was almost 16 weeks PP when it finally stopped.  Everyone is different and every pregnancy is different.  Sucks but it wont last forever :) at least it shouldn't :)
