I love that she asked for a pirate ship. How about some books? DS LOVES his books.
We plan on getting him:
Digital camera - we are looking for a cheap adult one. He loves mine and I don;t think the ones they make for kids would be what he wants. He wants the silver shiny ones.
Matchboxes and one of those rugs for him to "drive" them on

From Santa: Melissa & Doug take along tool kit (free with huggies codes!), 2 coloring books, 2 throw blankets (cars and toy story), fish bath towel, cars aquadoodle, 2 animal planet buckets (safari and sea life), mellisa & doug 4 wooden puzzles (all in one small box), Cars CD, Woody hat and gun holster, Oreo matching game, some books, Discovery kids rocketship (to color and play in), markers, paper, paints, crayons, and hope to get a bank and a toolbench for his big present yet.
Sound like a lot but I got a lot at garage sales and on great sales including black friday.
From other people: basketball hoop, books, view master and reels, bath crayons, dvds (little einsteins), bounce on ball w/ handle.
From us/Santa DD is getting:

If your DD doesn't have a doll stroller or a shopping cart, consider adding that. The doll strollers are relatively cheap (TRU has a Graco one that I got for about $13) and a huge hit typically. DS loves loading up the doll stroller with his cars and zooming around the house.

We got DD the fisher price loving family dollhouse..the super set so its all furnished...we also got her a mobigo and one game for it, board games ( memory, chutes & ladders, mr bucket ), an aquadoodle, a caillou book set, cars & toy story dvds ,strawberry shortcake remote control car, a leapfrog tag reader & 2 books for it, melissa & doug ice cream cone set, a pizza party set, DH is getting her a toy helicopter ( she loves helicopters ), and a Remo floor drum; Phew, I think that is about it...We went a little crazy on her !
I know my mom got her some books, some jammies and some caillou dvds..my sister got her the loving family van to go with her dollhouse & a new baby doll and the bambi dvd. Have no clue what she will get from other family members.
We got DS a Hot Wheels brand build it yourself car and ramp set. Not the typical ones, it's more like Lego but bigger pieces. "Trio" i think its called. He saw a picture in a magazine and was trying to pinch it saying "want to take it off the page!"
Also got him a Vtech learning phone..he fell in love with it at a store (I snuck it into the cart heh).
Might pick up a big one of those "bead mazes", he's obsessed with those now too.
He'll be about 2 yrs 4 months @ Christmas time!
Not sure what family is getting him at this point..but we suggested books, puzzles, play-doh fun sets & spring clothes.
DS will be exactly one month from 2 on Christmas and we kinda went all out.

Books, clothes, and boots. My family does not buy toys they let us deal with that.
With us, it's a little hard because we spend Xmas in another state (PA) and live in TX so we can't have a lot there, plus it's also DS bday 12/22 and we fly up the 20th. So between my Mom shipping stuff down, stuff we have stored in the garage and stuff he'll get up there....

Those are pretty much it other than small stuff or stuff for his stocking.. Yeah, they are mostly big items, but like i said it's also combine Xmas with his bday. There are a couple other things he'll be getting, but not until after we move and around the time the baby is born. Kinda his 1/2 bday gifts. Plus it will make it easier on me for him to have more to do when I'm recuperating from my C/S and some of the things he isn't quite big enough for yet.
