measuring big. long post sorry.

Anyone measuring bigger than how many weeks they are? With my first I always measured a week or so ahead from about 30 weeks, at 39 weeks I was measuring 43 :/ I had c section at 40 weeks he was 10.6 healthy as can be. Now with baby number 2 another boy I am measuring 32 weeks at 28 weeks:/ I'm hoping to get an ultra sound at 32 weeks. I gained over 40 pounds in just fluid with my first, so I just want to know what's going on. I will mention I've only gained 18 lbs as of 28 weeks. What worries me the most is that I went from measuring 2 weeks ahead at 21 weeks to now 4 weeks ahead 5 weeks later.

Anyone else.

The second time around, your ute is already stretched out so my OB says it's normal to measure further ahead. Ask your dr. If they are fine, then no worries

I'm not currently measuring bigger than my gestational weeks, but at 18w4d I was measuring 15cm, then at my next appointment at 22w4d I was measuring 23cm, and at my last appointment at 26w4d I was measuring 26cm.  My doc attributed the 8cm jump in just 4 weeks to a baby growth spurt and was not worried about it (nor was he worried about the only 3cm growth in 4 weeks that followed).

My doc also mentioned that the fundal height measurements are just a rough guideline and are generally not cause for concern because they can easily be off by a few cm depending on the position of the baby that day/what the baby is doing (ie. my little guy likes to stretch and push my belly way out periodically throughout the day).  So it is quite possible for my fundal height measurement to change throughout the day as much as 3cm when I've measured it when he is quiet and when he is pushing my belly out.

FWIW I consistently measured a week or slightly more behind during my pregnancy with my DD (she was born at exactly 41w weighing 7lb4oz).

My little guy is measuring two weeks ahead but I go back for another growth scan on Friday so we'll see if he's still measuring ahead or not. I don't think it's any cause for concern. Like the other ladies said once you've had a baby you body really does know what to do so it's not uncommon for STM to measure ahead.

Knock on wood, I haven't measured bigger, but I'm also comparing this to my SIL.  She's due Saturday.  At her 30 week check she was measuring 41 weeks.  No thank you.

I don't know about measuring ahead since I always measure right on time. However, my son was also over 10 lbs, so my ob plans to do a sizing ultrasound further along, towards the end. Does you ob not plan to do the same? Mine will also consider inducing a week early because of size.

My baby boy is measuring over 2 weeks ahead right now. However, my belly size has always been in line with my weeks but at my appt yesterday my belly was now a week ahead. I'm hoping he decides to come early and not just be a big boy :)

I am measuring ahead. I was told my uterus measures large because of my first pregnancy with the triplets. I say don't stress to much over it.

I honestly wouldn't stress about fundal height measurements.  If the doc was worried they would send you for a growth u/s.

I have measured ahead for both my pregnancies! With DS they insisted he was only a 6 lb baby blah blah blah...I delivered 2 days after that appt and he was 9 lbs! I kept telling them I had a huge baby that needed out and they thought I was batshit crazy! After delivery when they weighed him and told me I looked and said " who's the crazy one now?!!!!!" My momma instinct was not wrong! I'm just anticipating another 9-10 lber!

My fundal height is normal for 28 weeks, but the baby is measuring almost 3 weeks ahead and measuring > the 97th percentile.  They have always said he was big but he went from >95th to >97th from 20 weeks to 28 weeks.  I have been tested for GD twice (passed 2 one hours)!  I am a FTM, seeing a Fetal Medicine Specialist because I am 35 and both DH and I are carriers for CF.  Should be interesting to see whats happening in there in 7 weeks at the next scan.

My fundal height has been high the last several weeks but baby and fluid levels are normal... Baby's arms and legs have consistently measured a week or two long at every ultrasound but everything seems normal.

It's so odd to me that my ute is so high already because I have a very short torso, even for being as short as I am (5'2")... Unless that's why? She was sitting very low the first half of my pregnancy but then it all changed.

I'm also not always showing much because baby girl is always straight up and down, never curled up.
