What size diaper/ weight/height is your LO?

My daycare lady is very opinionated on things and likes to tell us oh hes ready for the next size diaper etc..

I was just curious what size diaper your LOs are in and their height and weight?

We have been using pampers size 4 for quite a while and yesterday she wrote hes ready for size 5....  I haven't had any issues with the 4s leaking etc and still have quite a few left that I want to use up.. Also he just turned one and most diapers only go up to size 5/6.  How will he make it till potty training? ugh..  I will for sure use up all the 4s I have but was just curious if others were at that size yet..

He is 22 lbs 8 oz, 30 inches long.

Re: What size diaper/ weight/height is your LO?

  • DD is right around 19 lbs, 28.5 inches, and is still comfortably in size 3 diapers.  We use the Target Up and Up brand diapers.  I would say if your LO hasn't ever leaked through the 4s and seems perfectly comfortable in them, there would be no need to move up a size.  The size 3s I have say they can go up to 28 lbs for weight (I doubt they would fit well at that weight), but why move up a size if you don't need to?

  • DS is at least 27.5 lbs and 31.5" and still wears size 4 comfortably.
  • 30ish pounds (? one year appt is on Monday) and more than 30 inches (he was 29.5 inches at his 9 month appointment). We're in 5s and have been for a while. We recently started having leaks at night, so switched brands and added an insert and that seems to be helping (knock on wood.) I wouldn't worry about switching if the size seems okay and you aren't having leaks. What is she basing her advice on? We typically have to switch before LO is the minimum weight for the next size diaper (It must just be his shape).

  • DS is about 21 lbs and I think he needs size 4. He has been leaking for the past couple nights.

A is 22 lbs and is comfortable in a size 4. Most size 4's go up to 27lbs so we should be good for a while.

  • The weight range for Pampers Cruisers size 4, which we use, is 22-37lbs. So it sounds like your little guy is still in the low range for this size. But I guess it depends on the brand you use?

C is 29.5 lbs and 31" or so. He wears a 5. I'm also wondering how he will not be in depends by the time he is potty trained. Hopefully he starts walking and thins out soon.

LO is 19 pounds and 29" long and we are in size 3 and have not have had any problems. I have a pushy daycare provider too. Stick with your mommy instinct. If you think he if okay he probably is.

  • Ok thanks girls! I just wanted to make sure I wasnt crazy for thinking hes just fine. Weve had no issues.  We use the pampers swaddlers... due to his sensitive skin. He was having a bad reaction to the pampers cruisers/baby dry.

I dont know why she is suggesting it...she just always seems to know everything. I was wondering if its because the other baby who is a few months older is now in 5s but he also weighs alot more prob closer to 30 pds.

I will def be using up what I have for sure!

She's a little over 20lbs and wears a 3 during the day and 4 at night. She'll be in 3's for a while longer.

  • She wears cloth diapers most of the time, but occasionally I'll use a disposable and she wears a size 3.

She's on the small side, though.  She was at the ped yesterday for a cough, and she weighed 18 lbs even, and was just under 28''.

  • Dd was 20 lbs 3 ozs and 28 in at her 9 month, I think she's around 21 or 22 lbs now. Her one year appointment isn't until may 20 or 21. She still wears a 3 comfortably and I use babies r us brand.

LO was 19.5 lbs at a sick visit last week.  No idea of her length since not measured recently but she is on the tall side.  We are using size 3 in Pampers Swaddlers and have been in this size forever it seems (since before Thanksgiving I think).  They seem to fit fine still.
  • Approx 21-22lbs, approx 29 inches, size 3 pampers swaddlers and size 3 pampers baby dry at night. Doesn't seem to need size 4 yet but could probably switch.

Not exactly sure of weight and height since her apt isn't until the 14th but I'm guessing around 19lbs and 29in. She still wears a size 2 in Pampers Swaddlers.

Early June baby here. My baby is only a couple of ounces lighter than the OP, about the same height, and he is in size 3 diapers. Size 5 seems way too big to me. Don't they start closer to 30 pounds? Don't let the daycare lady force you into something you don't want to do.
  • Another early June baby here. She was 18lbs 10oz last month and she's in size 3 diapers too.

We just moved up to a size 4 Pampers after a couple of blow outs.  She is about 18 pounds and about 27-28 inches.

M is almost 19 pounds, about 30 inches and still in 3's. She's been in 3's for as long as I can remember and still has plenty of room.

    ETA: We use Luvs

This but DS is barely 19lbs & 30 inches. Now my 2 year old is 36lbs and 37 inches and wears size 5 in Luvs. He wore 4s for a year....the weight range gets bigger as they get older so you won't switch sizes so often.

DS is 20 pounds and wears a size 4.  He is well within the weight range, but sometimes he leaks through.  I've been using overnight diapers because if I move him to the next size, the diaper will be swimming on him!

  • I probably can't help much since we're only 16.5 lbs and almost 27 inches tall and in size 2 diapers and will be for a bit longer. But, maybe your daycare lady thinks that babies should move up to the next size diaper when they reach the minimum weight for that diaper size and that it'll be more "comfortable" for them?
