Re: {{Healthy-Living Accountability}}

  • Hope all of you ladies are doing well.  I've had a pretty good week and the scale was kind this am and put me at 153.8.  WAHOO.  Maybe I can get to 150 by 5/22 after all?    I've worked out every day and while my steps have been lower than the previous weeks, I managed to hit 10K steps every day in April and also have taken the stairs up to the 8th floor where I work every day this week at least once if not twice.  Stairs suck, but I'll take the weight loss.

My DH has to work OT tomorrow which will be helpful to pay for our cat bills (Kitty was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, a thyroid tumor, and heart murmur this week)...

So, all in all I've made it through unscathed I do believe.  Hope you all are fantabulous.

Good morning @MrsG80inTN! Sorry to hear about your kitty.  Go you on the steps and weight loss! You seriously walk up to the 8th floor? I'm impressed. I take the escalator the 1 flight out of the train station everyday, ha oops.   My week has been ok, worked out twice and hoping for an afternoon run today.  Food has been less than good though so I'm avoiding the scale. I think the weeks I'm on progesterone I need to just not weigh myself so I don't get discouraged. Hope everyone's week went well!

  • Hey @MrsG80inTN Thanks so much for posting this!

I'm kind of bummed because I didn't get a run in on Wednesday or Thursday due to too much work to do at home and for my photography business.  I had every intention of doing P90X Yoga last night, but I just had too much to do :(  I've been eating better - watching my portion sizes and drinking only water and 1% milk.  I'm still debating on getting a fitbit... I really want one, I just have to justify in my mind spending $100 on it.

((hugs)) for you and praying for your kitty :(

  • Morning ladies

@mrsgo80intn Im so sorry to hear about your cat!
you are pretty stinking awesome, walking up to the 8th floor and hitting 10K steps?! I am so bad at remembering to put my fitbit on after I charge it!... I HAVE to start wearing it if I want the Tory Burch cover when it comes out! :)

With all that being said, @morethansparrows08 I do LOVE by fitbit... I am just a scatterbrain in the AM and keep forgetting to grab it! It is REALLY helpful with being conscious of calories and hubs and I really enjoy the sleep tracker feature... I highly suggest them because I feel like they really make you aware of the movement your body is doing and kinda encourage your to move more :)

I however did not do so good... I went on Monday had a crazy leg work out (was super sore until Wednesday) but between the estrogen, work and crazies I had so much going on that I skipped the gym.... the rest of the week... :( I did however manage to drop 5 lbs (even though I really dont go by the scale numbers) since the last time I stepped on the scale (surgery morning) so I will attribute that to eating well...
NEXT WEEK IT IS ON WITH ME AND THEY GYM! (I used shouty capitals... I am passionate about this statement!)

  • Thanks for the check in @MrsG80inTN

I did ok this week. I didnt work out but the weather played a huge factor in that. It's been a craptastic  week emotionally. Luckily, I have not eaten my feelings, so small victories. I am  hoping to hit the running again, as I need to get something done! Love and ((Hugs)) to all.

    All Welcome

  • @KM380 – Way to go getting some workouts in.  Hopefully the weather is good where you are and you can run.  I did a walk/run yesterday (I joggle more than run) and it was beautiful out.  Have you noticed progesterone affecting your weight?  I don’t’ think I’ve noticed that yet but will have to be on the look out.  And yeah, I have been walking up to the 8th floor twice a day and have been aiming not to take the elevator at all… It’s really rough (especially in heels) so I bring slip on tennis shoes when I’m going to do all 8.  It’s weird because no matter how often I do it, it never seems to get easier which bugs me.

@morethansparrows08 – I’m sorry you didn’t get to run, but that means that your business is doing well which is a good thing.  Way to go on eating better.  You know I’m a complete fan of the fitbit and ADORE mine so I’m not the one to ask… but I’ll help you justify it if you want J

@jlworden710 – I too want the tory burch cover – it’s going to be so awesome J Which Fitbit do you have?  When I used the Flex I never had to take it off because it was water proof even in the shower and that was awesome.  The Force that I wear now isn’t water proof, but *knock on wood* I haven’t forgotten it yet!  I’m so impressed that you are already back at exercising – I thought you might have to take more time off after the surgery.  Way to go on the weight loss.  I’m anxious to hear how next week goes for you!

@megrae12 – yeah – you all had some terrible weather this week.  You’ve had a week for sure in the emotions area and I think sometimes just getting through is a huge accomplishment.  I know you’ll feel better when you can work out.  Much love.

    Good morning ladies!

@jlworden710 Glad to hear you are committed to the gym next week. I am expecting to hear good things at this time next week.

@MoreThanSparrows08 Hope you have more time next week for yourself. At least you were working at your photography rather than just having a lack of motivation. Any chance there is extra money from all this photography work to fund your fitbit?

@KM380 I agree with you that you should step away from the scale while on Progesterone. Try to concentrate on eating healthy and getting exercise and give yourself a break with the numbers.

@MrsG80inTN So sorry about your Kitty. I really think that you are going to make it to your 150 goal!

AFM My weight is back up to where I am starting to be comfortable with it after some renewed determination to put back on a few lbs last week. I think that I will be happy with 2 more over the next couple weeks. I had 8 cubic yards of mulch delivered to my house yesterday afternoon so my workout today will be weeding and then spreading the mulch (we finally have a beautiful day here in New England).  DH purchase a wheelbarrow for me yesterday.

(((hugs))) to those who need them this weekend!

  • smcniff - yard work is hard work!!!!  But being outside is so helpful to the soul.  Enjoy.  And great job on putting a couple of #s back on. I wish I could just give you 2 of mine as that would put me closer to my goal, but it just doesn't work like that :-(

Thanks for the check in @MrsG80inTN!

My week has flown by, but I'm pretty proud of myself when it comes to my floor exercizes! I only missed one day of the week (due to smexings).

I am considering taking part in the Couch to 5k program now that its light in the evenings. I hear they have an app and everything. We'll see!

  • Thanks ladies for the encouragment! @smcniff My photography does provide a bit of extra income, but I've just donated $250 to sponsor a 5K tomorrow.  I'm really hoping this will provide more exposure and get me more business! DH and I don't like to spend money willy-nilly - we like to look around, find the best deal, the best product, make sure we really need it, etc., so that's more of where my hesitation is... I'm sure I'll get one, just have to find the best deal :)

  • GrailSeeker14 - way to go on the weight loss this week!  That's awesome.  The 2WW is always hard.  I'm glad you take it a little easier.  I'm thinking of taking it easier during the 2ww as well from now on.  I'm worried maybe I'm doing too much, but who knows.  I've been snacking more too... but just basically adding more nuts.  I love peanuts and cashews.  LOVE... Take them a way from me :-)

Yay completed my 3 workouts for the week!  I just got back from a run and saw this in the gym, thought I'd share "Excuses don't burn calories. If there is time for FB there is time for a run.  Its not about having the time. Its about making the time"   I'll have to try to remember this next time I'm making excuses.

@MrsG80inTN the big issue with the progesterone is the bloating and extra hunger. So I try to snack healthy but I know I'm eating more than I typically would. So avoiding the scale is the new plan.

@ Grailseeker good luck with the dissertation!

  • @KM380 - YAY for the extra workout.  Love the note about FB... I saw something quite similar and have attempted to adopt the same mentality... I also try not to play my games (words with friends, etc) except for when I'm on the elliptical... or if I've already worked out that day so it helps.  I have noticed the extra hunger but thought it was because of my workouts :-)  I'm trying not to allow myself too much extra because the impending beach trip is scaring me.

Thanks for the check-in, @MrsG80inTN and hey, hey to @peggels24!

I have nothing good to report other than I survived my uterine septum removal surgery and I'm alive.  I have eaten like shit all week since the surgery and my body really hates me for it.  I just finished a slice of pizza and want to curl up because of the cramps right now from the surgery.

Hope to rebound next week and get myself back on track.  I'm taking this week as a loss in the healthy living department, but thank you all ladies for the encouragement with the surgery this week and I will be better next week...promise!!!

I've had an up and sown kind of week.  Positives:  worked out every day this week and my work schedule has picked up finally.  Negatives:  emotional week for some reason however  I did not eat the cupcakes I made for work :) Scale isn't moving down as quickly as I would like but I am coninuting to work at it.

  • Thanks for the check-in! I am doing okay calorie wise but I have been so busy at work and with life that I haven't had much time for exercise. Today I did a 5K memory walk for my dad, so I did get some calorie burning in! I am trying to get some gym time in this week . My mom and I go to florida Friday for a long weekend and I know I won't have gym time or much calorie burning then!
