Sooo Emma sleeps well at night. We're getting a 6-7 hr stretch, she'll eat and go back to sleep for 2-3 hrs. My problem is that I can't go back to sleep. We don't talk, lights dim, all that stuff. Is anyone else having trouble falling back asleep? I have a sleep mask to block out light, white noise..am I just out of luck? If I could only sleep the whole time she sleeps I'd feel rested.

Yep. If I wake up enough to take care if everything, I can't just go back to sleep. I'm trying to avoid my cell phone. I have no helpful tips. It sucks. It's worse at the 3-4am round than the others. :/
Yes! Her first wake up is usually around 4 or 5 and I avoid the phone too. Sometimes we skip changing her to make it shorter but that doesn't help either. Just can't fall asleep! It doesn't help that my H sometimes snores but the past couple of nights he's been ok. I want to sleep so. freakin. bad.

I have been bringing a bottle with water up and formula powder to mix in right in our room. (she's in a bassinet, but I plan to do the same in her nursery) This way I keep the lights off and don't have to go downstairs to make a bottle.  This seems to help a lot with getting back to sleep.

I got the sads :( I've lived in Canada 5 years and have always dreamed of my mum coming over, and now she's here! But she leaves tomorrow :( She is just besotted by her first grandson (he is adorable I can't blame her) and it's going to be the hardest thing in the world for her to walk away at the airport. I have tears just thinking about it. It's going to hurt her so much. We have Skype but it's just not the same as cuddles!
We went through the same thing with my mom finally making it over to visit.  I don't know which one of us it was harder on us having her leave.

    Lots of hugs for you.

  • Last night B was up at 10:30, 11:30-1, 3 and 6. Her sleep is going BACKWARDS. She slept better at 4 weeks then she does at 9 weeks.

DH called my doctor and they want me to start taking celexa again. Last night I told DH that I didn't want to be a mom anymore, and that B deserved a better mom than me. Then I cried for an hour while DH tried to soothe B back to sleep.

  • Mia loves my mai tai but i hate it, it feels too loose. I love my moby but she hates the hug/kangaroo hug hold. I have her in there for like 10 minutes then she starts screaming. Any suggestions? @Nickiechan‌ or anyone else?
She may not like to be confined and the MT might better for her. Does she like to be swaddled? Have you tried walking around for a bit?

  • @Laura8388‌ hugs I know just how you feel. My momma lives 1000 miles away and when she left I was so weepy.
  • @ariaamante143

I'm so sorry things are so rough right now! Hopefully the meds help you find some balance.

Side note: I believe there is a growth spurt at 9 weeks.

I didn't know there was one at 9 weeks. I almost wish that were true that means there's an end in sight.

I'm in the glider with B, she's napping on my chest. I really want to put her in the crib so I can leave the room and have 5 seconds to myself, but I know as soon as I put her down she'll cry.

@Mcsweets‌ when I has DS1 the specialty baby store had a liquid version of fenugreek that you either just squirted a dropper-ful in your mouth or a drink. Sorry, I can't remember the brand. I'm not going to lie, it was nasty, but if you can't take pills it might be an option.

  • @AriaAmante143‌

I have definitely had moments like that. Yesterday I put O down, knowing she would cry, and put on my iPod for five minutes so I could have a break. I felt terrible letting her cry, but I needed the break to be able to handle the rest of the day. Big hugs to you. You are doing a great job. Just the fact that you're so concerned about your LO shows that you are. I'm so sorry you're feeling this way, but know you're not alone!

  • @amholley1‌ Thanks for the kind words. Thinking of it as the next stage of feeding is a good idea too. Did you mix BM and formula to start or just cold turkey switch?

@Laura8388‌ I'm sorry about your mom leaving. Mine is only 10 hrs away and I still get upset when she leaves after a visit.

@AriaAmante143‌ all the hugs to you. I hope things get better soon.

  • @AriaAmante143‌ hugs! Have you checked out the Wonder Weeks app? There is a leap around 7-9 weeks, sort of a mental growth spurt. When J went through his he definitely had sleep regression. I hope you feel better soon. Sleep deprivation is the worst.

@laura8388 sorry your mom is leaving! Jodi should be home soon though right? I can't imagine being so far from family. Hugs!

  • @pepperedmoth‌ - I'm hanging in. The nurse left yesterday so I am figuring out how to do this alone. I'm still not producing enough milk for her and so she is taking a lot if formula and while I know she needs it, it is emotionally killing me.

I'm also still struggling with her birth. I'm fine until I actively think about it it something triggers me - for example, the proof of her birth certificate came today so we can add her to insurance. The second page was her footprints and one of my fingerprints - well, I have NO memory of this. None. And I started crying, because it kills me that I don't have memories of the very beginning of her life.

Other than that, we are settling in and are ok. I'm starting fenugreek today and hoping it will work. I'm lurking a lot more but am trying to keep up! Miss you ladies.

RIP Dr. Irving Fishman - 10/1/19-7/25/10 - thank you for holding on for me.
You made my wedding day complete.

  • @AshleyO925‌ I had to supplement from the first week so she's always had a mix. I was doing my bottles half and half, and just throwing in a full formula bottle at night. Then I started to just do less bm and more formula and kept subbing formula only bottles for the mixed bottles every day. It was pretty easy. Best of luck to you mama

  • I'm just getting finished nursing LO, and notice there is a big wet spot on his pants. And I have no idea if he peed out of his diaper, or my boob was dripping on him. Sigh.

Now that i think of it, no she hates being swaddled! Yes i walk around bounce even try a paci when in the moby.

I may just need to get used to the MT! Or maybe a ring sling might be the best of both worlds? I don't know. =]

Fennel EO with a teaspoon of honey. Works like a charm for me. :)

Mia desperately needs a wet diaper change, but I don't want to wake her up, because I just pumped an hour and a half ago, and I don't know if I'll have enough if I wake her now. .___.

On the bright side, she looks freakin' adorable right now, and she's been so cuddly all day! :)

  • @saisongbird‌ I know what you mean. I didn't go through nearly everything you did, but I hate that I forget stuff. Yesterday I was thinking about the day we brought her home. I remember when we got home and I remember that evening when my mom came over. But I don't remember that afternoon. It makes me sad.

@Laura8388‌ sorry that your moms leaving. I can only imagine how hard that is. I give you so much credit for not having your mom close and having your husband gone for so long.

  • Has anyone ordered a sling from Seven Slings? I want to get one but I'd like to hear what others think of them first.

I haven't myself, but for all of those "free" companies (there's several out there,) I've only ever heard "not worth it" comments.

On the "free" note I love my carseAt canopy!! When we go to the store and lo is in her car seat I can choose if people can stare at her or not... If she's covered no one bothers us it's great

I love our free car seat canopy too. It's awesome quality. One of my nurses in the hospital was going to tell all her patients about it.

  • 321 posts just caught up on. Hugs to Aria. Laura, hope all is good with your mom gone. FBW hugs on going back to work. I know I am missing a bunch of ladies here.

Ok, guise, I need bump help. I just spent 30 minutes trying to update my ticker. I can create it, but every time I try to upload it as a hyperlink I just get that weird postage stamp like thing. Any help?

I searched for the old sticky that had the print screens, but there are so many "ticker" check ins I can't find it.
  • @WisconsinCheese12‌ I was the one looking for the codes!!! Thank you very much! :)
