I should've stayed in bed today-vent

So I wake up at 8am and think today is Friday.. Surely I was disappointed when I realized it's only Thursday. So I have 45mins to get eat breakfast and get ready for work. Which I'm fine with, I set my alarm later on purpose. I'm driving on my way to visit my first client which is about 20mins away. Well with the stupid highway bumper to bumper traffic it takes me 30-40mins to get there. And just as I'm about a 1/2mile away from the exit.... BAM! I get rear-ended. Seriously?! Thank goodness we were only going like 10mph so there wasn't any damage to either car. And I sit far enough away that my belly didn't hit the steering wheel. So the guy and I exchanged info. And then I called my hubby to let him know. Then I tried to call my client but they didn't answer. So I called my boss, left her a message and then I called the doctor. I originally have an appt at 2pm, so we're keeping that, and she said if I have any cramping or spotting to call her immediately, and she also told me to eat/drink something sweet and sugary to get baby moving.

So I went to my client's house told them what happened, and decided to leave and just go home to relax and feel baby move. As soon as I got back in my car baby got the hiccups so good sign. Then when I got home baby hasn't stopped moving around, which I'm thankful for. Now I'm just pissed I have to deal with this sh*t and fill out insurance papers to file... I'm just gonna crawl back into bed and forget today exists.

Sorry for being so long! And thanks for listening if you made it this far!

Sorry you had a rough morning. Thank goodness that you're both ok! Glad your car isn't damaged too because that would be a PITA right now.

  • Glad you two are doing okay!!! Did you have your car seat or base installed in the car yet?If so, depending on the brand, it will have to be replaced. The Facebook group Car Seats for the Littles are great with information about that. I only know Graco has a replacement policy for any accident no matter if it was small or not.

Just try to focus on what's important-- both you and baby are okay.

After what happened to another May mom yesterday, this seems especially important to remember.

  • @big0700109‌ no the car seat was not installed. So that's one less thing I need to worry about.
  • Glad you and baby are alright. I hope your Dr. Appointment goes well.
  • I just want to add my docs appt went well. I'm not dilated at all!!! Baby is head down but no where near the birthing canal. Just from this it seems like I'm going past my due date of 5/14
  • Glad you and little one are okay!

  • That's scary! I'm glad you're ok! And baby! We had a close call this week too- on Wednesday. My husband was off work and was going to take my car to get an oil change so he planned on driving me to work. There was a horrible accident on the interstate so the were rerouting traffic into my route to work. We took some back country roads instead and as we approached this skinny ass country road bridge that really only one car should be on at a time, this HUGE pickup truck with a double wheel well flew past us at about 70mph and side swiped us. Luckily only got our side mirror- could have been a lot worse. Not only did he hit us, but he didn't stop either so my husband (a cop) turned around and followed him about twenty miles while on the phone with police. Needless to say I was late for work.
