I hate to come off as being snarky, but I've seen a few people with community badges stating they will be having a winter baby in Dec. That's fine if it's due after Dec. 21st., otherwise you're having a fall baby. Ok, no flaming...just thought I'd share incase you didn't realize. =/

December is cold, and my baby will still be a baby on the 21st if he or she is born on the 9th.

I'm keeping the badge. Sorry.

I don't really pay much attention to the dates that the seasons "officially" start, so I'm not paying much attention to the dates for purposes of saying whether I'm having a fall or winter baby, either.

In my opinion:

If it is warm out on March 15 and I hear birds chirping and see trees flowering, I will say that it is spring.

The entire month of December is winter.

 Summer starts as soon as schools are out and people start wearing shirts.  So early June.  Sometimes even late May.  I sort of consider Memorial Day early summer.

And I consider all of September to be in the fall, even though fall doesn't start til the 21.

So - what I think is, if you want a winter badge, have a winter badge!

 

ETA: I meant summer starts when people start wearing shorts, not shirts.  Oops!

Ha Ha! Oh to live in a tropical place like PA! DH and I live right next to Lake Superior and it keeps the air at a frigid 40 degrees 10 months out of the year. Pretty to look at but not so fun to swim in!

Yeah, December in Michigan = winter. Whether it's 12/1 or 12/31, it's cold and possibly snowing. I'm all for keeping those winter badges!

I just have to say - I am LOVING that the puppies and rainbows vibe is fading a bit today!  I like realness better than PNR.  Is realness even a word?  I'm not sure, but I will use it anyway.  Just like calling December winter.  I'm a rebel.  I'm making my own rules today!

This is the stupidest thing to nit pick about.  Technically, anyone who is due prior to December 25th should have an Advent badge rather than a Christmas badge because we all know that Advent is the religious season that precedes the Christmas season.  Seriously, WTF cares?

Hell, I live in Florida and I still say I'm having a winter baby.  Even if I'm wearing shorts and flipflops to L&D.

Maybe I'll add a Fall Baby badge to my siggie too.

Heads up....when I go outside Dec 1st and its 15 degrees and whiteout conditions.....its Winter to me! Just because the solstice isn't until the 21st doesn't mean squat. I can't believe you would even post this. If someone feels like early Dec is winter, then they deserve a winter badge.
