Baby's weight

I weighed LO on our home scale today. He only weighed 16lbs, that seemed low to me. What are your babies weighing in at? I'm tempted to call the dr but he's having plenty of dirty diapers and is eating happily so it just may be he's a little guy.

Re: Baby's weight

  • Alexis is 7.5 months and 20 lbs. DD1 was always on the smaller size though and is perfectly healthy. 16 lbs seems average to me.

  • How old is he? If your doctor's not worried i wouldn't worry. Some babies are just smaller than others. My baby girl is 8 months today and is almost 17lbs - so she's also small comparatively.
  • Growth charts are showing him in the 5th % he was at 50th at 3 mos and then 25th at 6 mos. I think I'll call since he won't have his next appt till June
  • Thanks ladies. I'm actually just dumb. I weighed him w me and then myself alone and screwed up my math. He's 18 lbs.
  • DD is barely 16 lbs at 8 months. But she is healthy and happy and a good eater.

DS was only 18 lbs at 1 year. Our doctor never mentioned his weight other than to say he was gaining weight just as he should be. At three, he is now 50% for both height and weight.

  • Dd weighs about 20lbs she turned 7 months last Friday. Always been at the top of the charts. I'd thinly l think even at 16lbs I wouldn't be too worried. Even just a pound on their little bodies can be a lot.
  • Around 14lbs at 8 months. I definitely wouldn't trust your home scale for precision, but it sounds like you miscalculated anyway ;)

  • LO was 17 lbs at 6.5 months. She's around 70th percentile for weight though. Girl likes to eat!

My dd only weighs 14lbs 10 oz at 7.5 months. At her shot appointment when the nurse went over the growth chart she had dropped down a curve so I have to take her back in a month to make sure she hasn't dropped down again, hopefully she's just going to follow this new curve. She eats plenty, and is hitting all of her milestones so I'm not concerned, she's just on the smaller side and always has been. After 6 months their growth spurts slow down a lot too so it's normal.
  • 16.5 lbs at 7 months. She has always been in 25th percentile and pedi is not worried
  • 8 months 21 pounds 8 ounces 28 inches He is a chunky muffin.
  • At 7.5 months she's about 17 pounds give or take.
  • 25 lbs even at the dr office Monday. I have no idea how tall, but is filling out 18 month sleep and plays.

  • Just shy of 16 lbs at her 6 month appointment. I'd say she's probably 17 a 17.5 now at 7.5 months. She started out tiny in the 4th percentile but shot up between 3 and 6 months. She was in the 37th at 6 months.
  • 21.5 lbs at 8 months. Girl likes to eat just like her momma :)
