Just wanted your ladies opinions! I will be in Canada when I am 28 weeks pregnant, but only for a couple days. You think that would be alright? I asked my doctor and they were fine with it...just seeing what you would do. Thanks!!
I don't think it should be a problem, however before traveling out the country I try to find out what my health insurance policy is for traveling out of the country. My policy is I have a 500 deductible and then they'll cover 80% of the costs.
Canada might have socialized health care, but all their best doctors come to the US and I'd rather have an awesome doctor than risk my child's health. No offense to anyone in Canada. My mom's a doctor here in the US and we have family up there.

Yikes. That is an extremely presumptuous and ignorant statement.
First of all, I was clearly kidding about leaving the country at 38 weeks to scam on socialized healthcare. Secondly, it is very ignorant to think there are not qualified dr's in Canada. My younger brother was admitted as a child to a hospital in Toronto for a major cardiac episode as a child and he received amazing care. To OP, your trip will be fine and if you do need any medical attention for any reason, there will be plenty of great doctors.
Totally fine...you can travel until you are like 32-34 weeks I believe. I travel internationally for work very often and will be gone during my 29-30th week and the Dr said it was fine, just make sure to super hydrate, take lots of walks on the plane, look up Dr's in the area just in case, etc. Have a good trip!
Thank you guys, I am just a little nervous. We are up there quite often but I just wanted to see what you thought. If anything happens we will go to Buffalo, NY. It's only about an hour and a half from where we will be!
My OB just told us we are clear for flying through 35 weeks as long as we are not high risk. No problem with Canada.. I would be a little more wary if you were going somewhere that you don't fluently speak the language.
Re: Out of the country at 28-29 weeks?

Canada has socialized heathcare. I say go there at 39 weeks. Way cheaper
I just laughed out loud.
But now I'm thinking about taking this advice!! Haha
