M'14 Awards...let's do this thing

OK, we've talked bout M'14 awards for while now, let's do it.

I"m willing to spear head and organize it but I'll need to recruit some help.

First, I think we need to divide awards into either quantitative and qualitative.

Quantitative will be easy b/c there isn't really any voting it will just be straight forward numbers. I propose that we make a new thread for each quantitative category and people can submit themselves. I'm willing to take this one on.

Ideas for quantitative awards

-longest bedrest (strict at home or hospital)

-earliest water break

-earliest delivery

-latest delivery (how far over 40 weeks)

-smallest baby

-heaviest baby

-longest baby

-biggest head

-fastest return to work

-shortest mount of time to have PP sex

Qualitative

This is going to be harder and take a lot more time to put together as it will require voting. I think that each category should have it's own thread where people can submit their story/nominate themselves. You can either type your story as a reply or link to it from your original post in your reply. Then everyone can read them and "like" the one(s) they think are the best/should win. I don't think we should limit the number you can "like" as it would be too hard to police. We set a deadline (day and time) to submit your story and to "like" them. This is where I will need help, at the cutoff date/time someone needs to count up how many "like" each post got. The 5 with the most likes move onto the next round. people may still "like" various stories after the cutoff time but it will not count, this is where whomever volunteers to help with that category needs to make sure they are on top of it and count the likes at the cutoff time.

The next round will be set up with the bump's poll option to ensure that everyone only votes once. We will set up a poll with each of the 5 best stories for that category as an answer. Voting will end at a certain time and whomever is in charge of that category will declare the winner.

Here is an example:

Category is "PRETTIEST MP"

Thread is made titled, Prettiest MP and everyone who thinks they had the prettiest MP replies with a pic of it. Everyone "likes" the MPs that they think are the prettiest. At the en of the "voting", the bumpie in charge of that category counts all of the likes. The 5 MPs with the most likes move onto the next round.

A poll is made in a new thread titled "Prettiest MP", there are 5 options, vote for your favorite one. Voting end is predetermined.

Thoughts??? Is there an easier way to do this?

(I'm cracking up about "prettiest MP.") I think it sounds good. The only thing I'm unsure about is why have a two-round system for the qualitative ones? Why not just have the one with the most love tits win? That would be a lot less work.

doing just 1 round would be a lot faster but then people could vote for more than 1 option and there is no way to "lock down" the post so people can't love it anymore, it may be hard to determine a "winner"

I kinda see why it should have 2 rounds. In round 1 where everyone is just "liking" the post you can like multiple posts.. but at round 2 you only get to vote once.

You surely win the trailblazer award as one of the first non-twin ladies to go! If not that, you win something for handling a baby by yourself while DH was away. I still don't know how you do it!

Niceties aside, I (unfortunately) challenge you on the pooping. I went so much they actually mentioned it (I thought they weren't supposed to mention it!). Then, the baby pooped on both of us the moment she was born. It was the best shittiest experience ever.

Pshhh do I get anything for double labor!? I tried delivering naturally - they had me sideways on the delivery table trying to get Ellie to flip head first. Everett was almost out (Head was out) and the u/s tech saw Ellie drop feet first. They had me stop and cut me open!

Side note: How many twin mamas delivered naturally!? I'm jealous...

I worked up until the end but luckily I went into labor at night. But I did call in "sick" by texting my boss a picture of my baby lol

I worked while in pre-labor (real contractions off and on, but not timetable and not long). It was a Friday, and LO came Saturday.
