3rd cycle was a bust, I started my period yesterday. I called my RE to start the IVF process and I have to go to meet with the coordinator in 3 hrs for blood work and get everything scheduled for all the testing that needs to be done prior. She said the will give me BC pills to start now. She said since I had an HSG in December I may not need the saline test but she's got to talk to my RE. I'm freaking out and have cried since I got off the phone. I'm an emotional wreck because I'm facing the unknown all over again.
No advice, unfortunately. I'm so sorry this cycle didn't work and you have to move on to IVF. Hopefully they'll be okay with just your HSG, one less probing would be a small blessing!!
The unknown is so scary. Hopefully the concrete steps you will need to do (getting the testing and meds) will distract from the emotional toll of it until you have some good news about follies.

Honestly, IVF is not that scary. I was actually more excited then anything. (maybe I am a weirdo for that lol). You will be just fine! My protocol was pretty easy BCP for 13 days, 8 days of stims, 2 triggers, then ER. It moves by so quick! Best of luck to you and just think of the end goal!!

I'm another with no advice but definitely sending Ts&Ps your way. That's a lot to digest at one time. Hopefully you can find some peace in the next few days. Take a long walk (alone or with DH) if you're able - that always seems to help me feel centered.

Prepping for IVF in with ER/ET slated for early February
Married on October 20, 2012. Began trying in January 2013. RE appointment & testing December 2013 - February 2014= Unexplained IF, possible endometriosis IUI#1- March 22 (100mg clomid, 75 mg of Bravelle, Ovidrel trigger) = BFP!!!
For me, IVF was both not that bad and just plain awful. Physically, it was okay. I went back to work the very next day. Emotionally, it was horrendous. But...I also had a pretty shitty cycle.
Hugs It's very overwhelming when you're first starting out.
I don't really have any advice regarding what to ask. When I went through it, I was mostly just curious about what protocol we would be doing, which meds we'd be using, how long the whole process would take, things like that. Most of it was covered during my nurse consult anyway.
@ronniesgirl1981. Yes! I did 2 Lupron Triggers. One 36 hours before ER and one 12 hours after the first trigger. I also took a small dose of pregnyl with the first trigger. So 3 shots at trigger time!

Well since I'm also just starting down this road, I don't have any great advice for you. I have put together a (rather lengthy) list of questions in my latest blog post for our IVF consult tomorrow, not sure if that will help or not. I found a great list on here somewhere and adjusted to my own situation.
The unknown is scary, I won't lie, I'm slightly freaking out that we're actually at this point, but it helps me immensely to have such amazing, supportive and knowledgeable women to talk to and get advice from. We can freak out together!! And then gather info and get our game face on, because we can do this!!
Don't freak out!!! You've already been through medicated cycles. It "seems" like a lot, but you're just taking shots, then you take your trigger. Retrieval is really the only big thing. IVF is really a diagnostic process...your doc will have SO much more information on your issues as you progress through the cycle.
Questions to ask....how many betas (it varies, anywhere from 1-3) and what day (my friend waited 9 days, i waited 11). Also depending on the size of your clinic, ask what resources are available. We had a dedicated nurse to email 24/7...this is really important. Also see if your husband can donate at home (if he prefers that). See if you have a local pharmacy for meds (although you already have some experience there). Take really, really, really good notes when they give you instructions for injections/meds. Ask for a consultation with the nurse if they don't schedule one.
Try not to google too much, you don't want to compare to other people. IVF success rates are much higher than IUI, so focus on that. Plan activities, keep busy, and take care of yourself! Go out to eat, go to the spa etc. IF makes you tougher than you think, you can do it
@jaytee16 that's an awesome group of questions, I'm happy to say my Dr and the nurse gave me almost all those answers. I'm so glad they directed the meeting, I had a bad Ménière's spell yet again about 30 min before we left so I was doped up on Valium.
I have my protocol and I'm starting bc Saturday and by the end of may we should start stimming. ER should be prob the second week of June (1 week before my 40th bday, Happy Birthday to me) and prob have ET sometime towards the end of July or first of august, hopefully next year around this time I'll be giving birth to a healthy baby. Were doing IVF ICSI with PGD. I'm still in sticker shock but were going to make it happen.
