What's something gross that you enjoy?

But others would probably think was gross?

I got my forward triple helix pierced in January. It will occasionally have some crusty stuff around the piercing. I find joy in picking it off. I'm like obsessed with checking for it....

Okay, so I get tonsil stones sometimes.  I thouroughly enjoy getting those things out!  I hate when I have them - I can smell/taste them and I get a huge feeling of accomplishment getting them out.

The grossest thing I do is dip fritos in mustard. Gross things gross me out!!!!  (though JOTB, piercings of any type don't gross me.  Unless they're the gauge ones and HUUUUGE).

Yes!  I heard if you get your tonsils out, you don't get them anymore.  I have never had strep until this past year, which I got it three times.  I'm trying to convince my doc to let me get my tonsils out because I HATE strep, but also because of tonsil stones.  She is not convinced.

That was me exactly!! Isn't it bad that we would rather undergo surgery than have those? Or strep? LOL

    Oh, that's pretty cute.

They are gross.  Basically, some tonsils have all these tiny pockets and folds around them.  Food gets stuck, then bacteria starts in on them and turns them into these little white firm...things.  They literally smell like poop to me (because of the bacteria).  I will make my throat sore trying to get them out (clearing my throat, trying to scrape the back of my throat with a Qtip).

Hey, for those of you who are dieting, how hungry are you NOW?

Your tonsils have little craters on them and it's basically dead cells and food particles that get stuck in there. They make these little white ball things that you have to dig out b/c if they get to big they can get painful and just over all irritating. They smell HORRIBLE like gag.... DO NOT GOOGLE lol i just did and it was disgusting. Mine aren't as bad as the pictures that came up. They are normally the size of like a ball point pen tip and there's usually only like 1-2.

  • I like picking ingrown hairs on my legs. <-- you know b/c i don't shave as often as i should...
  • I don't necessarily enjoy it, but I get complete satisfaction from picking a huge booger from DS's nose. Like the ones that block their breathing.....
  • ZOMG to tonsil stones.

    The human body is nasty.

I have one weird rogue black hair that grows on my lower stomach- maybe an inch below my belly button.  It's totally a different color and texture than any hair on my body (as I am blonde).  When it gets long, I totally enjoy plucking it out.  I try to get it so that the root is intact, and then I inspect it.

I have never heard of tonsil stones before this. I am tempted to Google but I won't.
I think making sure our kids noses are super clean backfires later in life.  Like, I have to have a super clean nose myself.  If I blow my nose and there is something up there that blowing won't get out, I'm going in.  I don't have the patience for that to work it's way down.

Wait, I have a gross question about these tonsil stones @JackoftheBox and everybody else who gets them ... if they are so small do you end up swallowing them? Or can you get them out of your mouth?

They don't come out very easy for me using a Qtip, so sometimes they come out on their own, especially when I first wake up.  I wonder if I swallow them in my sleep, but I really try not to.  And yes, I proceed to examine them.
