Whole chicken

Would you toss a whole, not quite totally thawed chicken in the crock pot? Will the skin turn out yummy? Tell me your secrets. I want roasted chicken tomorrow night and don't want to have to put it in the oven.
Hallelujah, it's a miracle, I have children AND a signature!

I have done it and it took quite a bit longer to cook.  The skin will not be yummy and crisp. The chicken will literally fall apart, it'll be so tender. Tammy's Recipes has a good roasted chicken recipe that I have done in the crock pot.  I have heard people say put tin foil under the bird but I have not tried it.

I salt the inside and out, put about 1 c of water in and let it go for 3 hours. I stick it in the oven at 400* for about 15-20 minutes to brown/crisp the skin. The skin will be floppy and kind of fatty if you don't brown it in the oven.
