Vomiting from crying?

DD has always had a sensative gag reflex, but she's thrown up from crying several times lately.
Tonight I was getting her to bed, she wanted to play. I told her that I love her and she needed to go nigh-nigh. DS was in the bath, so I grabbed his pjs, went downstairs, let the dog in, and went back to DD. I sat with her in her rocking chair and she threw up. She isn't sick. She does that blood curdling scream some times when she cries and I think it's making her gag.

Has anyone else had this? I of course freak out thinking something must be wrong with her.

Side note: she has all teeth except her incisors and those are starting to come in, red swollen gums, chewing on her finger...

    Our son has done the same thing. When he cries really hard, he vomits. He's done it when we tried letting him cry to sleep (massive fail), and when he got his shots at the doctor. No advice either. :(

    Some kids just have a more sensitive gag reflex. My older DD has done that numerous times... including once at the gym daycare (whoops!). I guess just know that it is not uncommon, and you really shouldn't worry about it. Easier said than done though, I know.

    Yep, DS does this on occasion. He has always had a very sensitive gag reflex.

    I may be no help here but my DD did it a few times out of frustration and being upset because it was time to go to bed and she didn't want to. My husband and I got really tired of it and we knew and could tell from her screaming out of being mad that she would start to cough and then would spit up or throw up and we had enough of it. We would go in her room and change her sheets out not talk to her much and then when we got everything cleaned up we would tell her it's night time, you've been changed, had something to drink, your teeth have been brushed, you've been rocked, mommy and daddy can hear you and you are just fine you need to relax and go to sleep and we would say that every time she would do that. She doesn't have a sensitive gag reflex but just did it out of trying to get us to come back into her room because she didn't want to go to sleep. After a few nights of us telling her that and not giving in to her protesting about going to bed it stopped.

    DS has done this a few times during day care drop-offs.. He gets so worked up crying, he vomits. He's also done it a couple of times at home when he gets so upset. It doesn't happen often though.
