For Mother's Day I am thinking of telling DH to get me a camera. We have a 14 mega pixel powershot, and it's really not cutting it anymore. We've lost candid moments with DD, and the quality isn't there anymore. I'm thinking of looking into a more professional camera, and then buying lenses as we go. Maybe something under 300-400? 

pictures from your camera are appreciated! I'd like to see first hand of the quality.

    Canon rebel t4i - we got it at Christmas and LOVE it! We also have a super zoom lens in addition to the regular one.

    I have the canon rebel t3i, there are some newer versions of it out now but I find this one does the job just fine. Especially with the addition of some new lenses I have gotten. It works as the gift that keeps on giving because he can just give you a new lens for different occasions. I am no professional photographer by any means and haven't quite figured out editing photos but I think it does a really good job with my low level of skills. Almost all of the photos I have posted on here have been taken with this camera.

    what brands should I look into? Canon and Nikon?

    I have the Nikon D3200 as well and it takes beautiful pictures! I love it!

    Thanks ladies, we're going with the Nikon d3200. Best buy was having a bundle sale on it, so we got the camera and 2 lenses. I'm so excited. DH said I can pick it up today...so you'll probably be seeing some new photos soon. I want to go to the park with DD and try it out :)
