had a cold sweat/nausea episode that is freaking me the heck out!!

So I was making turkey burgers for dinner and while I was standing at the stove, I had a very sudden episode of nausea. I abandoned the burgers, raced to the bathroom , and proceeded to have really bad cold sweats. The turkey didn't smell bad to me (like cooking beef does). I was sitting there by the toilet and didn't manage to throw up. This really surprised me since I was convinced that I would. This has never happened to me before. I believe I am at about 7w, give or take some days. I tried to Google my symptoms but there are so many conflicting reports out there. I feel ok now (this happened about an hour ago). I don't have a fever or any other problems. Good thing I am going to the doctor tomorrow for first ultrasound but now I am freaked out its the beginning of another m/c. Please tell me someone else has experienced this!

I felt the same way at the aquarium the other day. Nausea and cold sweats. I think for me it was a blood sugar thing - sitting, some water and eating helped. I think it's a totally normal part of pregnancy.

You just described every episode of nausea that I've had- during my last pregnancy and just starting with this one.

I can feel the blood drain out if my face and usually have to sit or lie down wherever I am otherwise I get really faint. I can make it to the bathroom once the lightheaded-ness passes

The nauseous feeling always comes with cold sweats for me.

I hope you feel better soon, or that you can at least put your mind at ease a little bit.

Sounds like low blood sugar and/or reaction to standing still (probably with knees locked) which can cause BP to drop suddenly with exactly the effects you described. Double-check with your doctor of course but overall sounds pretty normal (though highly unpleasant and I hope you won't have it often!). What pp said about sitting/lying down right there if it happens is good advice - it can help prevent a fall on the way to the bathroom which could be more likely to result in you getting hurt and then also would be one more thing to worry about with the baby.

I had the same thing for the first time yesterday walking through the grocery store. Sitting down and sipping water helped a lot.

Thank you so much for responding!! I feel a lot better about it. I think it freaked me out mainly because it just never happened before, but as long as it doesn't happen all the time I won't be too concerned. @springbeduk2‌ , that is very good advice. Next time if I'm home like I was I will just sit or lay down wherever I am to avoid fainting.

This has happened to me a few times after my morning shower. I feel nauseous, faint, and I break out in a cold sweat. I asked my dr and he said to sit down with a glass of water until it passes. It is a scary feeling, though!

Most of my nausea feels like that, and I often don't throw up. My nausea intensified around 7 weeks, so perhaps this is intensifying for you? Best wishes that everything is just fine!
