True story, I used to wear a pentacle ring (which is a 5 pointed star, it's relevant for the rest of the story). Before I was married, my future MIL took me aside one day and wanted to ask me about the ring. I was worried I would have to explain that I was a witch. Instead she nervously asked me if I was Jewish. I said no, and she was very relieved and that was the end of that conversation. She never did ask me about the handfasting we had performed by a pagan priestess at our wedding.
