Fever - WWYD?

O had a fever this weekend, starting Friday night, hovering around 100 but as high as 102.4. It broke easily with Tylenol and stayed away for longer than 5-8 hours after one dose (as in, it didn't return right away as soon as the dosing wore off). His temp started going down this morning and then after his afternoon nap it was completely gone.

He is teething right now, however I have read that teething doesn't actually cause fevers. He was grumpier than normal, but never screaming in pain. He has touched his ear a few times, but not tugging, clawing or pulling. More like, "hey, there's an ear here." So my question is this: If it were you, would you take the time off of work tomorrow and take him to the doctor?

If he needs to go, there is no question, I was ready totake the day when his fever was up. Now that it is gone and he is back to his happy self, I am not sure. I don't want to take the time only to show up with a happy, normal temped baby and they look at me like, "lady, you cray." On the other hand there may be some rule I don't know about that says take your baby ASAP. O has been so sick so far that I am more than 1/2 way through my sick time and we are obviously less than 1/2 through the year! FTM problems...the struggle is real, y'all.

    If the fever is gone and he is in good spirits I would probably wait to take him in.

    Can you go in late and call the nurse line and see what they say?

    Who watches him while you're at work? Can he go if he's had a fever within 24 hours? I would call first thing in the AM and see what they want you to do. Can't you leave and go get him if you need to take him in {I have no clue what you do for a living} or do you have to take the whole day?

    Thank you for all your response! We took him to daycare today and he did great. DH picked him up early because I was supposed to go to a work dinner. While at home he said O was a little chilly...he took his temperature and it was 95.5! He called the doctor and took him in. DH bundled the little man up and his temp was back up to 98. Obviously I just came home, and he was his normal happy slef again. I just don't know what to do with him, he is going to be the end of me!
