First of all she didn't innocently ask a question. Asking a question is when I posted on another board "when do you feel the baby move?". The answers to me were perfectly appropriate. She assumed she was getting a baby bump from the op and asked if anyone else felt the same way. AND she actually says she is "worried about getting big." Don't get pregnant if your big concern is your damn hot body. Secondly wrong forum. Most women would give their right arm to have a beautiful happy healthy child regardless of whether their ass grows three sizes. I didn't care before but quit dramatizing that this poor innocent first time mom came on and asked 1 ques and got her ass handed to her. Didn't go down like that.
Thank you!!! I thought I was on crazy pills because I seemed to be the only one that saw her question was about getting fat. Also the fact that she hasn't come back smells of a troll.
Now on to titties, I believe my new soulmate/internet fantasy @thdpr was about to show me her epic breastesses.
I'm worried about getting fat. Not gaining weight for the baby, which I am excited to do, but eating a dozen donuts because that is the only thing that doesn't make me puke fat. I am a FTM, and I am paranoid about EVERYTHING. Also, to make this post relevant to the other posts, I have HUGE boobs.

so many mixed emotions to this post.
if doughnuts are settling your tummy try not to eat a dozen at a time? also: baby nor you can survive on just doughnuts so try to force some nutrition down.
yay for boobies!!!!
May Siggy Challenge = Linda Belcher!! Hands down, my favorite TV mom!
Hah! My husband looks at me this morning when I'm getting ready for church, starts laughing, and says omg your boobs are getting huge! Aduh where have you been the last two weeks?
Fortunately, I have not been eating them by the dozen, but I have never craved donuts in my life, and this is the first time they are appealing to me. The point of my post was that there is a balance between healthy weight gain and putting yourself and your baby in potential harm. That, and I wanted to brag about my big ol' boobies.

I probably wouldn't worry too much about the donuts just yet. When you're out of first trimester you should have fewer aversions to foods and will be able to eat healthier. But honestly, don't worry so much about getting fat right now. Unless you're high risk you should be able to work out still if it's that much of a concern and if it makes you feel better, a lot of the moms from my BMB with DS are looking pretty amazing these days. I'm not one of them... but hey... I also haven't tried too hard. Focus on having a healthy pregnancy. Gaining weight (baby and otherwise) is pretty much par for the course.
As someone who has already gained twice the recommended amount for the first trimester and was no where near a petite little size two to start with all I can say is: NOM NOM NOM
At least I know it's not a baby bump that's making my pants fit funny XP

@sfolmar Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I truly feel terribly for you women that prey on us first timers. I can't understand why you feel the need to be so nasty. You should really be ashamed of your behavior. If you aren't on this site to learn or help others, and if you think you're better than the rest of us, please leave. You could be a role model and someone that truly helps other women through such an exciting, yet scary, time in their lives, but choose to use it against them. Disgusting.

I got it! Sorry haha I completely misread the post. Yes everything in moderation except boobies. boobies for everyone!!

In response to the question as to why I haven't left yet:
-I like the little sig counter things that show how much the baby has developed. Seriously. I guess that's a stupid reason. *shrug* I keep going to baby center--which moves faster than the speed of light--and then coming back here and thinking... maybe it'll be better if people stop asking silly questions.
To be fair, I would never ask if I was showing. I also google like crazy. But I also would just ignore the umpteenth thread about that question. I may be new to being a mom and to baby boards, but I'm not new to internet forums, and that's my general go-to way of dealing with it. Ignoring. I've spent time on forums where people ridiculed newbies all the time and mobbed together and drove people off the site if they asked the wrong questions, and I've spent time on forums where the patient people handle the newbs, and the impatient people clicked off if they didn't want to deal. I like the latter better.
Also, I think it's a valid point that it's hypocritical to insult people because they insulted other people. Not only that, it's never going to get those people to stop, because people lash out when they are personally targeted. And the more they are personally targeted, the stronger they get in their position. This is why I do my best not to personally attack people. I try to remind myself that people on the internet are real people too. But I realize that my way is not everyone else's way.
To the contention that having your feelings hurt on the internet means that you are either "too sensitive" or "taking things too seriously":
This is another veiled insult, I think, because it serves to invalidate the way I feel, implying that I'm doing something wrong by being upset or by taking my own emotions seriously. I think it's a deflection because the person who said the thing that hurt my feelings doesn't want to confront the consequences of her actions... or the fact that her actions can in fact affect other people. It sounds to me like she's saying, "Oh, here on the Bump, it's totally okay not to care if I hurt someone else's feelings. Here, hurt feelings are funny. And here, stupid people should be held up in ridicule for everyone to laugh at."
In no way do I think that the "snarky" people are bad mothers, cruel people, or otherwise detrimental to society. I think they're totally normal people--probably very nice people most of the time.
So, you know, maybe that's why I keep coming back, truthfully. It's not because of the sig as much as it is to see if they do stop being mean when there aren't anymore newbies (and most people with December due dates should know by now, right? So, we should be hitting our stride.) To see if there's more to them or not.
Or maybe it's also kind of like a very, very tame 4chan for girls. And if you've ever been to 4chan, you know it's really hard to stop reading it.
No. You know what? I'll admit it. Conflict is entertaining. Hell, I write stories for a living, so it's not like I don't know this. I'm probably just popping popcorn like everyone else. And so, by actively opposing the snark, but deriving pleasure from the opposition, I'm a hypocrite too.
I have no fucking idea what I was going to say after reading all of this...
@Manateearmz and @SpankingShank REALLY? Does it make you feel better poking fun at someone? That is not called a sense of humor its called bad social skills and being rude. You just sound pathetic.
And calling people pathetic isn't rude? Hey pot, meet kettle!
Except you deserve it.
White knight?! I feel like i am back in highschool, telling people to not take you so seriously, name calling, correcting their grammer, drops mic? Hahaha wow you are really funny. Who cares if people post about their belly or muscus plug! Its a PREGANCY app! You are suppose to ask questions that have to do with that!

Good thing there so many Chris Hansens here. Maybe we can catch a predator.

I'd like to personally thank OP for NOT googling her question or I would not have had his awesome thread to distract me from all the other "stuff" I should be doing.
Second timer here...first time I reached 40F, so I'm all about the big boobies!
Our #2 is on the way!
BFP #1 - 08.2008, EDD 3.19.09 - Missed MC at 9 weeks - 09.2008
I have the Baby Center app in addition to this one and I almost posted to them that the boards here are much more supportive - good thing I didn't 'cause I'd be lying.
Why do women do this to each other? Call it humor or sarcasm. Blame hormones or boredom. It all originates from insecurity - there's no denying. Accuse me of being a white knight and that just proves my case.
Stay classy, ladies and remember you don't HAVE to look at all the posts if they grind your gears. I'm outie 5000.
