I can't stand when people throw parties to celebrate themselves and have the nerve to ask all the guests to bring a dish. It's one thing when it's a small get together among close friends and you hare having a potluck. It's another thing to throw yourself a birthday, graduation, going away party, etc. and expect your friends and acquaintances to cater your event. If you want to throw yourself a party, you do the dirty work!!!!!

How do you feel about a wedding?? Yes. I was invited to not one but two pot luck weddings last summer. I was like WTF?? And the one couple requested you upload all of your pics and use their hashtag because they weren't hiring a photog. What????

  • First and foremost, I'm absolutely hoping for a healthy baby and would of course put that before any of my own needs/wants.

That said, my FFFC: I am hoping and praying that for some reason I go just a teensy bit early and my RCS gets moved up to a nice morning timeslot. I'm completely pissy today b/c my OB's nurse called to say they've scheduled my RCS for 5pm on 5/21. Supposedly that's the only available timeslot my PB has the entire week. The shitty part...I'm not allowed to eat or drink anything for 8 hours prior. Fine, I can deal with not eating all day, but no water the entire day is completely ridiculous. Just as ridiculous as scheduling a 5pm RCS. Ugh so annoyed!!

  • Another one - I don't want to go into labor early. A few days is fine but not a couple weeks. Everyone keeps telling me how to get labor started but I'm not ready yet. Yes, my feet are huge, I'm exhausted and uncomfortable but I'm fine with waiting til 40 weeks. Of course, any later and i'll be asking to be induced! This is so unlike me. Usually I'm a planner and super-impatient.

I have been eating YoBaby and YoToddler for years (and this bun is my first kid)! I just like how it tastes and it's a more manageable size than the big Stonyfield Farm ones. My DH always makes comments about how it helps with my brain development. Haha

    Baby #2 due 4/26/16!

  • Saw an old friend from work at my doctors office and I was legitimately embarrassed because I know I'm retaining water and just look awful. I even tried hiding my face a little.

    It's a BOY

  • Whenever I run out of shower gel, I am giddy and get myself over to Target as soon as possible. Then I open & smell all of my favorite shower gels before selecting a new one. I also smell the bar soaps, just in case I want to switch it up. My husband knows now to just leave me in the soap aisle and check back later. Maybe it's weird but I figure I'll have to be smelling this first thing in the morning for a couple of months, so it needs to be just right I LOVE SMELLS.

This is me! I buy a different scent every time I go. I have so much fun sniffing all the scents

I have another. The closer we get to my RCS date, the less interested I am in attempting to BF again. I know I will, but I'm not excited about it. I had major guilt over my failure with DS just bc I'd had it drilled into me that good moms breast fed and formula was something to be ashamed of, but honestly I didn't enjoy much about BF or pumping. I preferred formula in pretty much every way. Baby still gets snuggles and nourishment, DH and grandparents get to be involved, and it suits my desire for order and predictability. It's surprisingly freeing.

I could have written this word for word!

Uh- I just ate a whole pint of Ben and Jerry's cuz I was too lazy to take the remaining downstairs to the freezer so I figured- what the hell.... Now off to hide the evidence.

I always plan on eating half and saving the other half for the next day. It's more like I eat 90% and save 10%. It's so hard to put down!
  • @jenb_99‌ I feel the same way. I did not enjoy BF. I FF #1 and BF #2. The main reason I kept it up and will try to BF this baby is for the cost savings.

  • Jury duty notice for Monday. I called and my number is excused. Since I already have sub plans, I am using it as a sick day. I have my appt on Wed. Hoping for labs again. Since Thursday will be May, I am secretly hoping to either have bad labs (RCS) or put on bed rest. Our team has testing on Thurs and Friday of this week, and Mon-Thurs of next week. I don't feel like doing either test.

  • My doctor said that I could be pregnant for two more weeks. What? Two more weeks if this crap?! I am due in seven days, not fourteen! I will not be working, I will be at home. And two more weeks puts this baby dangerously close to my mother's birthday... Who I am so pissed at right now. Can you believe the audacity that this woman has? She is posting in her Facebook that she can't wait for her new grandchild, and she is on baby watch. Nothing about me, going into labor or birthing the kid. Just another example of everything about her.

    tl;dr

My FFSCs: I am not telling my mother when I have this kid. She is 2.5 hours away, and she can wait. Also, if I haven't had this kid by May 8th, I will be infusing so she will not have the same birthday as my mother.

3 people on my FB have had their babies in the last week and I'm not happy. In fact I'm fucking furious and racked with jealousy.
I have a whole bunch of pregnant friends who are due weeks after me. I'm bummed at the idea that they might have theirs before me. I was pregnant first, damn it!!!

You and me both! My MW thinks I'll go overdue. Super. I'm off work and I'll admit slightly bored.

I won't be calling anyone either till baby is born. My father had the nerve to tell me he will be calling the birthing centre if they don't hear from us in a while (I text my sister a lot). I said that is so disrespectful to my privacy and my wishes. So DH's job is to continue texting everyone (as if its me) like all is well during my labour just to shut them all up.

  • I forgot to post this yesterday, FFFC: our April soggy challenge was a terrible idea. Everyone's signature (including my own) just makes me want sushi and subs and Cupcake wine and Jameson whiskey. Why did we do this to ourselves?
Lol, I know, right! I feel like it's helping me keep my eye on the prize - just 1-3 more weeks and I can have that shot of scotch and my favorite lunchmeat sandwich. Oh, and, you know, a baby.

Maybe we should have waited till May. :P

It makes me feel like crap because I'm still eating/drinking 90% of what is posted....

I confess I think I'm the only on on this board who is perfectly fine with going to 41 weeks +.  I'm over being pregnant but I am still staunchly in denial about having to give birth again and the reality of having 2 kids.  I'm freaking out every time someone posts a birth announcement and yelling "NO!  It's not May yet!" at my computer.

I was like that with DS. Everyone kept asking if I was ready for him to come and I would say no. I loved being pregnant with him. This pregnancy has sucked. I'm over it. Any time after Wednesday (37 weeks) and I won't she'd a tear about going into labor. I only have 2 weeks from Thursday until my RCS but I'm still really hoping for my VBAC. Part of that is because it means I'm done sooner.

Oh no I'm totally over being pregnant . I've been miserable and in pain for 20 weeks at this point.  But I'm still more freaked out by birth and two children then by the misery I'm already in.  The enemy you know I guess...

I am terrified of 2 as well but I guess I'm looking at it with a just get it over with mindset! Then again I didn't labor with DS. Breech baby=scheduled section for us. :(

  • My FFSC:

I'm so happy that people aren't choosing the 13th for the most ridiculous reasons. Means dd doesn't have to share her "bad" birthday. Seriously, grow the eff up.

I take it you didn't celebrate Mother's Day 2012, cause it was on the 13th.
  • Oh, I guess I'm bad cause I have 13 tattooed on me. Oh no. Thank goodness my little girl is okay an healthy despite her bad birthday.

@jenb_99‌ I just literally told my ob the same thing yesterday. No judgement here! I do NOT want to deal with the stress of it and the ppd if it fails again. All she simply said was "a healthy happy momma and a happy healthy baby is all that matters", that's what made the decision clear.
  • My dad wants to come visit us from out of town when the baby is three months old. I told him it would be better for him to visit when he was six months old when we were all better adjusted.

Truth is that when DS1 was born my dad came down and didn't lift a finger the whole time. I'll be damned if I'm going to take care of an infant, toddler, husband AND grown man while recovering from a RCS. No mam.

    1) How often are you in contact with your family?  (I feel like I'm doing an unusually good job staying in touch if I call people more than once a week.)  2) Because of HIPAA, calling the birthing center won't help your dad know before you tell him.  (Although, you spelled it "centre," so maybe you don't have HIPAA.  I have no idea what the non-US medical privacy laws are like.)  3) Good luck with a sneaky birth.  :)

  • I have another one!

I went out today to buy a used Moby Wrap. Rather than seeing DH eye roll at me and say I have enough carrier (I made 1 sling, got one for free, and bought a Snugli for $7) ... I said I was going to look at a high chair for my mom. I was able to sneak it downstairs before he saw :) I said the highchair wasn't what I wanted.

    Teehee.

@sisterjanet - I talk to my sister everyday, so clearly any changes in that routine will raise their eyebrows. I talk to my parents once a week, but they call me haha. Us Canucks spell it centre, so no idea what HIPPA is or something. But regardless, I know they won't tell him anything.

speaking of siggy challenges, since she-who-shall-not-be-named was in charge of this, should we designate a new siggy challenge coordinator?
