Does anyone have down there top 5 or 3 names for boy or girl? I have about 20 for a girl and my top 3 if its a boy. Just curious what the trends are..new names, old names, family names ect
We are using family names as middle names. If we have a boy the middle name is Joseph after my brother in law and for a girl the middle name would be Marian after my grandmother.
For boys DH and I narrowed it down to two but would go with Charles Charles Leo
For girls top 3 but we narrowed it down to Quinn Quinn Olivia Zoe
We've known since the beginning that we wanted the name Samuel. We were going for a name that sounds good being pronounced in English and in Spanish.
Completely undecided on the middle name though!
Finally! My September Siggy Challenge: TV Show I'll Be Binge Watching
@shimmer475 We are having a Wyatt too. We liked the name when pregnant with DS (Nolan) and decided it would be our boy name this go around. Now just need to decide between MN Guy or Matthew.
We've kind of been working off the same list since dd1, but now I threw another one in there that I love (bryony) but have mixed feelings about too (bryony is the correct spelling but the double y makes it look trendy and add to the fact that it's not a popular/well-known name in the us, makes me question it).
We had a list of girls names picked out the first time and couldn't agree on a boy (team green that time). Lol. Of course we had a boy and 5 weeks early. So his name was officially decided as we were rolling down the hall to the OR. My DS1 is Vincent Anthony. The v was for DH's dad (Vito) who never wanted his name carried on. Anthony was my dad. Both our dad's passed a few years ago (12 days apart) so we thought this was a nice tribute.
This time around we had our girl name from last time--- Gianna Grace. Other girl names that had originally made that list were Julianna Marie and Elizabeth. Of course, it's another boy! After much deliberation, we think we settled on Dominic Michael. Both family names. We can't even come up with another name we agree on!
My number one name I'm in love with is braxton lee. DH doesn't seem to fond with braxton but I think he's coming around he still looking for names though
We have our name picked - Eleanor Anne. We also considered Elizabeth. We had Daniel, Simon, and Patrick on our boy list, but I didn't love any of them so I'm glad we're having a girl.
We are settled on a boy name, Beckett Clark. Clark is a family name (my deceased maternal grandfather, and his father, and etc) and Beckett is a name from a book series we love. We have a lot of women in our families we really want to honor but a lot of them are really trendy right now (Charlotte, Victoria, and Sophia). My mother is a nurse and we do want to honor her in some way so we chose to pick our girl name after an old Celtic goddess of healing(which works because there is a lot of Irish blood on her family) Sirona Evelyn is the current draft but her middle name is up for argument still. We also went through boy names like Hunter, Garen, Benson, and Emerson before we landed on Beckett.
We had been settled on Lila (family name) with middle name Josephine (personal significance) since our first baby, but Hazel Ann (family significance with both names) was a contender too.
No name list here. Once in a great while one gets added, only to be removed within a week. Both DH and I are very indecisive this time around, with #1 we knew right away. And we are team green. I feel like nothing is ever going to feel "right" this time!

We were going Adrian if it was a boy, but that's most likely not the case. Our girl name is Cecilia and we are done discussing names. MN will be Suaad said (sue-odd) means joy and it's my grandmas name. It doesn't flow great but it doesn't bother me really.
We've had one girl name and one boy name picked out since sometime around when we were engaged. Joshua Michael for a boy and McKenna Lee for a girl. Should find out next week which one it will be!
We are having a girl and are debating between Zara and Gloria, but leaning towards Gloria these days. Middle name will be Myfanwy (muh-van-wee, means "my beloved" in Welsh) after my grandmother.
We have had a girl name since DS, Sidney Elizabeth.
But we are having a boy, I REALLY liked Brody but DH said no go, we have decided on Logan Matthew. I always wanted Aiden before but seemed like everyone around here used it so I didn't want to anymore
I thought we were holding those in reserve in case we changed our minds last minute, but DH told me the other day that the baby is Bea to him now, so I guess that's definitely her name!
Our top dude names were Cael, Nathaniel or Owen Patrick (Patrick was the MN for a boy no matter what).
(edited bc I forgot one!)

We know for sure if LO is a boy he will be Cooper. Probably Cooper John.
Girls names are a total other story. My DH dislikes most of the names Ive suggested, and Im not a huge fan of the names he likes. We have narrowed it down a bit for first names: • Piper (we both sort of like, but no one else in the fam likes its...my DH is now starting to question this name) • Scarlett ( My DHs top pick. Im only so so on it) • Sadie • Gwendolyn- my grandmother was Gwendolyn and my DH really likes it. We'd mainly call her Gwen though.
Ive been so up in the air with girls names, we are actually considering not being team green when we have our a/s in 2 weeks just so we know if we still have to debate a girls name :-)

We are having a boy- and our name is Jackson Frederick (middle name after DH and his grandfather, will have the same initials as DH)- but now I'm wavering because DH cousin just announced she is pregnant and if they have a boy have decided to use the name Jackson Daniels (aka- Jack Daniels) who knows if she will even have a boy- buuutt... it has kinda tarnished our name now. Probably gonna go with it anyways since a) we have had that name picked out for >5 years and are delivering first (Sept vs Dec) and b) we can't think of anything else- I've been calling him this for weeks.

Id still use it. Let them find another name :-). My husband is Jack (John) and he always wished his name was Jackson. He wants to use it for a MN for LO if its a boy

Our name is set... Madelyn Noel
My paternal great grandmother was Madelene. She came by herself, a young widow with 5 kids, over to America through Ellis Island. Ever since I heard about her as a little girl I loved the name. Old but also modern. The problem is I have this phonetic issue. I wanted the end sound to be like "lyn." Ggma's spelling ends in "lene" like arlene. I even checked the Ellis Island records for her spelling and ordered a copy of the ship's manifest to frame/hang as family history. Madeline ends in "line" and phonetically doesn't make sense to me either (Im such a nerd) so we altered the spelling. She will correct people on spelling her whole life but I have to also so eh. She'll deal.
We chose Noel as a middle name because we found out about her on Christmas Day. My other middle name runner ups were Pearl (after maternal great-grandma) and Rose bc I think it is pretty. Noel won out bc of the unique meaning/memory for us. Will store those for if we have another girl. Abigail was our other choice for a girl... Our first choice actually... But I couldnt get Madelyn out of my head and it just seemed right. So maybe girl #2 will be Abigail Pearl or Abigail Rose.
To start, I think this name is absolutely beautiful sounding Crystal. It's a great name. BUT, wouldn't it be easier for her to correct pronunciation than spelling? The y makes it seem trendy rather than the strong traditional name it is to me. Nonetheless, I love her name
I don't mind Madelyn spelled the way you have chosen and I'm picky about names and "traditional" spelling. People will pronounce it as line if you spelled it Madeline.

I totally thought the same thing at first. I wanted an older looking spelling. I couldn't get past Madeline. To me it is pronounced as "line." And if I stuck to ggmas spelling she would correct spelling anyway and it phonetically bothered me. So I was torn between Madeleine (which I still really like bc it seems more "classic" and may go with), Madelyn and Madilyn (both newer and trendier but with an "i" seemed trendier). Either way she will correct spelling bc there are so many legit ways to spell it. My name is spelled traditionally but due to so many popular variations people always get it wrong and I generally dont care).
I stillll am sorta debating with Madeleine. My sis and friends all love Madelyn. So I need to think it through more. Madeline is def out though.
ETA: Madeleine is also how it would be spelled in Sweden too (which is hubby's and in-law's country... And we hope to be able to make her a dual Swedish and American citizen).
I would love advice girls... Madelyn or Madeleine?
Bonus that it has a Swedish spelling! That would make my choice easier!
DH and I don't agree on very many names. He is very traditional and doesn't like anything super unique. But we do have a few possibilities.
Girls
Gabriella (not 100% on spelling, but nn Gabby) Dawn (my mother's mn, as I have my grandmother's mn)
We both like the name Grace, but I'm pretty set on Dawn for a mn and we don't really like Grace Dawn. So we're slightly considering Gracelynn Dawn. Anyone have thoughts/opinions/ideas??
Boys
mn will definitely be Matthew (dh's 1st name, he has his dad's 1st name as his mn, etc)
1st names we are considering, but I'm not super fond of are Carter and Dylan.
I really like Elija (Eli), Garrett, and Grayson, DH hates all.
Re: Name List
First name there are lots of options but Ian is my favorite and I call him that all the time.
For boys DH and I narrowed it down to two but would go with Charles

We know we are team blue, so we have a top 5 list for boys.
Linus, Felix, Oscar, Leo, Clyde (only family name)
Chances are, it will come between Linus and Felix - but we still have time to change our minds...
We know the middle name will be John-Bertrand after our maternal grandpas.
