DS takes medicine for ADHD. He is really finicky about school lunch If he does not get decent breakfast he will have a headache. Another reason why I can't let go.... ugh!
Thanks for reminding me. I need more Eggos....
Some of you ladies are like WOW originized. I just do it as I go, as I have time, as it needs. I don't really know how else to explain it. Theres no schedule in place because with 3 active kids something will always come up that trumps toilets getting cleaned every Tuesday (or whatever). Everyone pitches in, & everyone has a job (even the 2 year old knows to bring his plate to the sink when hes done). My house is a mess any given day of the week, but could also be picked up & clean in 15-20 minutes. I have nearly 3500 sq ft, 5 bedrooms, 4 baths, 3 kids, another on the way, plus DH, a dog & cat. I can not possibly keep it all clean at once! I keep cleaning supplies handy in every bath room & if the toilet needs cleaned, I take 2 minutes & clean it. If the counter needs wiped, I take 2 minutes & wipe it. If the tub needs scrubbed, I take 5 minutes & scrub it....You get it. If your looking for clean baseboards & spit shine floors, you won't find them in my house, but we keep things sanitary, we pick up toys, we load/unload the disherwasher/washer/dryer daily, we sweep/mop/vaccuume as needed. I am usually the 1st one up & last one down every day. Once the kids are in bed I try to catch up whatever really needs done that got skipped over that day.
Every once in a while, I will send DH off with the kids & spend the day doing some really hard core orginizing & cleaning.....& then about 10 minutes after they walk in its all in a clutter again. Lifes too short to worry about it. Just roll with it.
Also like @MrsBadKat, I clean as I go. If you see it needs to be done, do it right away.
We do most of our cooking for the week on Sundays and portion it out for the week and freeze any leftovers. That way when I come home from work just pop it in the microwave or oven and dinner is served.
I also get everything I can ready for the next day the night before. (Lunch, daycare bag, outfit picked out and ironed for work, etc.)
Wipe down furniture and baseboards while distractedly playing with the kids.
Pick 1 task to do (besides kitchen cleaning and toy putting away which each get done every night) after bedtime. Sometimes I get on a roll and do more, sometimes I hurry through it, but at least I get something done.
Involve the kids in cleaning tasks. They slow me down now, but I'm spending time with them and cleaning. And hopefully setting a precedent for the future. Win win win.
