Ultrasound - gender changing? [edited]

So we are having a third ultrasound in a few weeks (I'll be about 31.5 weeks). The way the dr made it sound was that it is standard though. I was told later by someone else that they only do third ultrasounds if you are having issues in your pregnancy. If that's the case, I think it is because I was having some weird pains and cramping a few weeks ago. I'm really not concerned about her health, the way she acts and kicks lets me know she is healthy and active, and my dr has told me there is absolutely nothing to worry about.
Anyways, I was told this baby was a girl at anatomy scan at 21 weeks, even though I was like 95% positive it was a boy. EVERYTHING was consistent with boy, all my symptoms and cravings and everything. I know that doesn't mean anything technically but I was sure it was.
After finding out it was a girl, I was shocked, but soon became thrilled.
Now I'm afraid that we will discover it will be a boy! I just have everything pretty girly, nursery all set up and everything.
Dr said he was almost 100% positive it is a girl, so I know I'm probably all weirded out of over nothing.
Sorry it's so long I just had to get that off my chest!

It is, of course, possible for the sex determination to be wrong. But there's really no reason to expect it if you had a confident determination at 21 weeks. By that point the sex characteristics are clear and the only typical reason for uncertainty is poor positioning.That said, I always have a tiny moment of doubt every time I get an ultrasound that maybe the last 6+ ultrasounds were mysteriously wrong and our girl will morph into a boy... And it's not like we would be unhappy with a boy- but we already have a girl name and a cute homecoming outfit, and wouldn't we feel silly bringing a nameless boy home after so many ultrasounds saying its a girl. But... Every time, the tech rolls her eyes and confirms its a girl. Because it's pretty darn obvious that she has girl parts.I'm not going to say you're silly for wondering- but do try not to let it freak you out.Some docs do a standard growth scan towards the end of the third trimester. They're really not necessary in a normal pregnancy, but every doc will approach testing in different ways. Some do early dating ultrasounds for every patient, some do NT scans for everyone, some do the anatomy scan only, and some like a growth ultrasound near the end. Any combination of those can be normal but ask your doctor for clarification and to find out what he/she is looking for.

I love having the US so I don't mind.
So, you're getting an ultrasound because there might be reason for concern about the health of your pregnancy and child, but you're not worried at all about that..... You just care about the sex.... Priorities, check them.

Once again, I am not concerned about her health. Dr said she seems fine and has told me that everything is perfectly normal. He did not give me a reason as to why we are doing another ultrasound, just that we are. I only was told later by other sources that they are sometimes cause for concern. I don't think there is anything to be worried about. She kicks a ton, she responds to me all the time, I have never bled while prego. I'm sure she's fine.
Clearly you can't post on here without everyone being rude! Of course I would be more worried about her health, but I don't think anything is wrong with her.
And if you're so unsure about whether or not the sex of your baby is what they told you it was, then maybe you should have waited until you knew for sure (when the baby is born) to buy everything. Just sayin.

1. Not a smart move. Must not get on often but WashingtonQueen is a mod and name calling is against the board rules.
2. I'm not really seeing the concern? Wives tales are just that, old wives tales. Every pregnancy is different. I would never base the sex of my child on a craving I had. I would trust my doctor over a craving. Boy or girl baby seems to be healthy just concentrate on that.
