I
will be watching a couple of toddlers for a friend, and I plan to keep them
busy for much of the time I'm watching them, but I anticipate needing some down
time to get some stuff done. What cartoons does your children like?
My son is almost 3 and he loves Thomas the Train and Super Why. He likes Dinosaur Train and Daniel Tiger to a lesser extent. The PBS ones have a good message and are educational.
We've gone through phases. First is was Clifford and Dora. Then Blue's Clues. Then Sesame Street. And currently it's Angelina Ballerina. I've been happy with all of them.
My girls like Curious George, Dora, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Sofia the First, and Doc McStuffins. They will also watch some Sesame St. My 4 year old has other shows she will watch, but those are the ones that usually work for both of them.
My daughter loves Bubble Guppies. She really loves movies though. Some of her favorites are Monsters Inc. & Monsters University, Frozen, The Lion King, & Rio.
For the win... Jane and the dragon ( Qubo channel & you tube ) Zula Patrol & 321 pengins ( Qubo & youtube) I spy ( Qubo channel and netflix) Super why and leapfrog (netflix)
... these are probably the faves right now.. but pretty much anything on the Qubo channel is ok and educational to some degree for various ages and free on antenna in this area if you don't have Cable..
as for movies.. probably My friend Bernard on netflix is the longest he watched any movie.
Thomas, Daniel Tiger, Sesame Street, Dinosaur Train, Super Why, and Jake and the Never Land Pirates get rotated in our house. He usually just focuses on one for a couple of weeks at a time because he's only allowed one show a day.
My DS has gone through many phases. He loves Little Einsteins. But right now he loves Caillou and Bubble Guppies. He also enjoys Thomas the Train from time-to-time and a lot of the Disney Junior shows.
My daughter is 26 months and LOVES the Backyardigans. I don't see them on TV much anymore so we have picked up a lot of DVDs, but they might still air old episodes on Nick Jr. She has also started getting into Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Jake and the Neverland Pirates on Disney.

Backyardigans is also now on Amazon streaming, free with Prime.
