We are a group of women striving to live healthier lives, whether that means losing weight, gaining weight, sticking to a specific diet, counting calories, avoiding counting calories, starting to exercise, continuing to exercise or anything in between. We check in on Mondays and follow up with an accountability on Fridays (our favorite post of the week, because we love encouraging each other and celebrating all our successes!). ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~Many of us are using MyFitnessPal to keep track of our eating and our exercise. MFP is a great tool to keep yourself accountable, and because it is set up as a social network site, we can cheer you on there as well as here. If you are using MFP and have not found us yet, let us know so we can friend you!~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Ok ladies! How are you all doing? What do you have going on this week: THE GOOD: THE BAD: THE PROUD: THE PLAN: QOTW: If you had to pick one food weakness, what would it be - what can you not resist? I am so proud of all of you but in case you need some more motivation (my apologies but I couldn’t NOT post something today about the Boston Marathon and all those runners running in spite of the tragedy that was last year):
Hi @peggles24! thanks for the check in! Hope all is well with you!
THE GOOD: I went to the gym pretty consistently... not as good as it WAS... but still good! I am starting week 3 of Jamie Eason's Livefit... so I am finally getting into the good stuff... I absolutely love her workout plan... if you like weights and some cardio I highly recommend it!
THE BAD: surgery is this week so after tomorrow I will be taking some days off... I feel like I was just getting into the swing of things and I am hoping that I can hop back into it after... hopefully summer and weekends at the lake in a bathing suit will motivate me!
THE PROUD: this is a weird proud... but I have started gaining weight, but losing inches so my weight lifting is starting to pay off!
THE PLAN: make it through surgery week and try to get back into the gym... I may supplement with yoga until I can do weights again since there is a little less strain with yoga.
QOTW: I cant live without chips.. I am a huge snacker... I could live off snack food
@peggels24 thanks so much for running this check-in!!! You're awesome!
I'm going to jump back on this wagon and do everything I can to stay put. I've put on 10 pounds since my loss in December, and when I went Easter dress shopping on Saturday, I felt like a friggin' cow! YUCK!
THE GOOD: honestly, not much THE BAD: I made cookies on Saturday and ate a bit of the dough, and then a number of the cookies between Saturday and yesterday. Also, drank quite a bit of soda over the past week... THE PROUD: nada... THE PLAN: No more soda. Going to be trying some smoothie's (I know I mentioned this last time, but didn't ever actually do it). Get back to working out 6 days a week - 3 days running, 3 days strength training.
QOTW: If you had to pick one food weakness, what would it be - what can you not resist? Pasta. The majority of my meals include pasta. We've switched over to eating mostly whole grain pasta, so that's better than white pasta, but it's still pasta... if there's pasta on the table, I'm eating it.
I am so proud of all of you but in case you need some more motivation (my apologies but I couldn’t NOT post something today about the Boston Marathon and all those runners running in spite of the tragedy that was last year): I would love to do the Boston Marathon. I'm supposed to be training for a half, but I got sidetracked this month... One day I'll run a marathon.

@Holdingouthope - Hugs - sorry about CD1 - it often gets the best of me too... Brush yourself off and keep going friend! Your gym workouts sound great. I'm on T25 Beta this week - OUCH!
THE GOOD: I did not screw up while my inlaws were in town and didn't mess up on my resolutions... Even no easter candy - miraculous! My inlaws were super kind and my FIL tried to tell me that I shouldn't lose more weight... Never mind that I'm still in the "Overweight" BMI category and have 15.6# to go to get to "Normal", but I digress :-) THE BAD: I'm sunburned - 4 hours of yard work yesterday will do that... but I guess I have a start on my tan??? THE PROUD: Scale was at 155.6 this am... definitely a low for the last 16 months if not longer. WAHOO. Only 5.6 to go for the next 4.5 weeks till vacation. Hopefully I can hit it. THE PLAN: Food wise I've added more protein and less carbs to my diet this week. Workouts will be T25 every morning and then hopefully some sort of workout at lunch as well and maybe even light walks in the evening with DH. I may go to Kickboxing tonight depending on how my shoulders feel from this crazy sunburn. We are likely going to my parents house this weekend so I'll have to finagle things there as my mother is the one that likes to tell me how much I have to lose, but fix me chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast. (sigh) QOTW: If you had to pick one food weakness, what would it be - what can you not resist? I'm thinking chocolate... specifically Reese's mini peanut butter cups. I bought two bags of easter version yesterday of these and hid them on the top shelf of one of my cabinets so I can't reach until after vacation... UGH

@morethansparrows08 GL cutting out soda... when I did it I thought I was struggling because of the caffeine, but I found out I wanted the carbonation, so I started substituting my sodas for carbonated flavored water and now I use our sodastream to get carbonated water and use their essence packs or the mio to flavor it... best substitute ever!
@mrsg80intn congrats on the dropping scale!!!! wahoo!

Hello all. Got some not so good news at my doc today. I have to wait at least 5 more weeks, probably longer. My UC meds are not working so they are putting back on a month of steroids and then i see him again to see if i can take the next tier of medication. They have to run tests to see if i am able to take it... Blood work, urine test and chest x-ray.
in other news I had fin with hubby's family in Vegas last week.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*
THE GOOD: Back on the healthy eating plan starting today
THE BAD: Up 7 pounds from meds and vacation last week.
THE PROUD: I took over 12,000 steps every day on vacation
THE PLAN: back to healthy eating and exercise bike
QOTW: If you had to pick one food weakness, what would it be - what can you not resist? Brownies....and hamburgers...

Hi
@peggels24 I want to jump on this great bandwagon!I am trying so hard to get my body back to
pre-loss weight and fitness. I tried MFP but honestly counting calories did not
work for me and it made me feel like a failure so I deleted that, contemplating
WW again because that has worked in the past . I think you are all amazing woman and I’m so
proud of you and your workouts and accountability! Hoping some of your
dedication will rub off on me here.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
THE
GOOD: started my week off right and just did a 4 mile run in this beautiful
weather. It was slow going but 4 slow is better than 0 so I’ll take it.
THE
BAD: My summer clothes, mainly pants, do not fit. If that isn’t motivation to
get my butt in gear I don’t know what is. Oh and H and I went to Olive Garden over
the weekend and as if that isn’t enough we had their special where you eat a
meal there and bring another home with you.Oops.
THE
PROUD – despite the Olive garden debacle, the scale has stopped increasing. It’s a small thing to be proud of but it has
to stop before it can go down.
THE
PLAN – workout 3 days this week including 1 run and 1 cycle class.Bonus if I sneak in a 4th and run
again on the weekend. Also, substitute an apple for dessert at night instead of
sweets (see qotw! Lol)
QOTW
– Chocolate chip cookies. They are my nemesis.
PgAL welcome

Hey! I need you all back in my life-- I fell off the wagon in frustration, but I've come to the realization that even if I don't lose as much weight as I wanted, I don't like how I feel when I'm not eating well and exercising. I feel like I've gained weight, but I haven't weighed myself. Since this has been a struggle for me for a long time (I know I'm not unique in that!), I'm putting the scale away and requesting at any doctor's appointments that I'm not told my "number."
So, the plan is to just work on reincorporating exercise and cutting out soda this week (soda isn't hard, I went a long time without it!). I plan to walk for at least an hour every day the weather permits. Next week, I'll clean up my diet a little bit.
QOTW: French fries or fresh crusty bread are my weaknesses.
Wb Hawkward! I just came back from straying too! I am getting back on the wagon for the exact same reasons. Being unhealthy is uncomfortable and sucky.
THE GOOD: I drank TONS and TONS of water this weekend which felt AMAZING!! I had a few Cokes on Saturday when we had the family over, but other than that it was glorious H2O! THE BAD: Along with the water consumption there was a TON of chocolate consumption! There is this amazing chocolate company in my area and DH went and bought treats for us including a chocolate/peanut butter egg and a solid milk chocolate bunny. Man, oh, man! THE PROUD: I walked my puppy all weekend and took an extra long walk today with him. I had the best of intentions to start my C25K program today...oops! Soon enough though. THE PLAN: Gym tomorrow (bag already packed), Mental Health Counseling on Wednesday, and Thursday is a toss up...might have a work thing, might not. QOTW: If you had to pick one food weakness, what would it be - what can you not resist? Pizza...all kinds...it is just perfect food for so many reasons! I think there is just so much happiness associated with pizza and making it and eating it....just love, love, love it!

@HoldingOutHope...way to go with the gym, girl! Keep on pushing and you will continue to physically feel great (which will hopefully turn into emotional great feelings too). I also love burgers and fries...cheeseburgers and bacon primarily.
@jlworden710...it's great that you found a weight lifting plan you have gotten into. DH is on me about starting to put weight lifting into my gym rotation...not quite sure about that. Best of luck tomorrow!! I will be thinking of you!
@MoreThanSparrows08...I am with you on the soda!!! I want this shit out of my house!!! I hate throwing parties because we always have left overs and I feel "obligated" which I shouldn't.
@MrsG80inTN...whatever you are doing, keep it up, lady!! Hitting those milestones are amazing!
@Peledreamsofrain...I love walking in beautiful weather! It makes it so much easier to say "yes" when your body says "no".
@megrae12...good job on the C25K training...I have to get on board myself!!
@GrailSeeker14...don't let a little increase get you off track just, jump back in! You got this!
@Hawkward...glad to see you back! Anything is better than nothing, so baby steps are better than no steps! Start with the soda and walking and move back in.
@Km380...I LOVED cycling when I did it! My place I did it moved far, far away from where I live and I wasn't that committed for a 45 minute drive. Good luck getting it all in!

Hi ladies! I missed last week, but I'm jumping back in! Thanks for the check in @peggels24!
Do any of you use a heart rate monitor during workouts? I've been thinking about getting one and would love any recs.
The Good: I started C25K today. Running is hard! I've never been fond of running, but I'm trying! My water intake is pretty good too. There's room for improvement though.
The Bad: The healthy eating kind of went out the window last week.
The Proud: Even though my diet sucked last week, I'm still down 3 pounds!
The Plan: Mon, Wed, Fri - C25K. Tues and Thurs - personal trainer. Get back on track with healthy eating. I feel so much better when I don't eat junk!
QOTW: Pizza is my weakness. I could eat it all the time.
Sorry for the post and run yesterday ladies. I went to watch the Marathon and didn’t make
it back to my computer.
Here’s my updates:
THE GOOD: I’m ready to give it my all.
THE BAD: Last week
(that’s all I’m admitting to)
THE PROUD: Refused
the offer of a ride last night and walked home with DH.
THE PLAN: Back to
the gym tomorrow – want to hit it W-F and either Saturday or Sunday unless DH
and I go for a hike on Saturday.
QOTW: I have oh so
many weaknesses but I think ice cream is my weakness and it’s because I can’t
control the portion sizes – I never seem to be satisfied with the right
portion.
@holdingouthope Nice job on the weight loss! And way to rock the gym!
@jlworden710 Good luck in your surgery today. I’m impressed that you worked out right until
surgery time – I would have found some sort of excuse to give up last week J And taking some time for surgery is not “bad”
– it’s necessary.
@morethansparrows08 Looks like you and I are in the same
boat – back on track this week! I tried
to convince DH yesterday that he should run the marathon next year – physically
he can do it and I think it’s something that he would be super proud of.
@mrsg80intn Nice number on the scale!!!! You are definitely going to hit your goal
before vacation! Keep up the great
work!
@peledreamsofrain Isn’t it so great when people notice that
you’ve lost weight? Best feeling! Looks like you are doing great!
@megrae12 Way to keep up the healthy eating and water intake
while feeling under the weather. Are you
feeling better now?
@grailseeker14 Shake off the weight gain – it could be
anything – including water retention.
Congrats on not letting AF get the best of you completely! That’s a hard thing to do. (So jealous of taco trucks – there are none
around here L
)
@hawkward I think that is a great plan. Don’t let yourself be tied to the numbers on
the scale – I know that I am guilty of it.
You can do it!
@meganwelch Sorry that the doc gave you less than great news
L It looks like you have a great plan – shake off
vacation and meds and concentrate on right now!
You can do it!
@km380 Welcome! I
used to do WW for years but really stopped doing it when they switched the
programs again! I debate going back to
it once in a while but never take that final step. Anytime the scale doesn’t go up is a
victory! Great plan this week – get it
done!
@liamadi1 Great job on the water intake! It’s so beneficial to drink once you can get
in the habit of it. Shake off the
chocolate – don’t worry about it! I’ve
been thinking about the C25K program as well but I’m not sure my knees would
care for it.
@megdowntheshore Hi Meg!
Hope you had a blast on your trip!
Nice job on not gaining any weight!
Good luck on Sunday – you are going to do great!
@buttercup509 Way to go on the weight loss! You have a great plan – you’ll do fantastic
this week!
@peggels24 have you tried WW ice cream? I used to have the same issue and when I did WW I started getting their individual cups, some of the flavors are decent and I found actually putting it in a bowl made my brain think I was eating as much as I want. GL with the gym plan :-)

Hi @peggels24 I want to jump on this great bandwagon! I am trying so hard to get my body back to pre-loss weight and fitness. I tried MFP but honestly counting calories did not work for me and it made me feel like a failure so I deleted that, contemplating WW again because that has worked in the past . I think you are all amazing woman and I’m so proud of you and your workouts and accountability! Hoping some of your dedication will rub off on me here.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
THE GOOD: started my week off right and just did a 4 mile run in this beautiful weather. It was slow going but 4 slow is better than 0 so I’ll take it.
THE BAD: My summer clothes, mainly pants, do not fit. If that isn’t motivation to get my butt in gear I don’t know what is. Oh and H and I went to Olive Garden over the weekend and as if that isn’t enough we had their special where you eat a meal there and bring another home with you. Oops.
THE PROUD – despite the Olive garden debacle, the scale has stopped increasing. It’s a small thing to be proud of but it has to stop before it can go down.
THE PLAN – workout 3 days this week including 1 run and 1 cycle class. Bonus if I sneak in a 4th and run again on the weekend. Also, substitute an apple for dessert at night instead of sweets (see qotw! Lol)
QOTW – Chocolate chip cookies. They are my nemesis.
PgAL welcome

Sorry for the post and run yesterday ladies. I went to watch the Marathon and didn’t make it back to my computer.
Here’s my updates:
THE GOOD: I’m ready to give it my all.
THE BAD: Last week (that’s all I’m admitting to)
THE PROUD: Refused the offer of a ride last night and walked home with DH.
THE PLAN: Back to the gym tomorrow – want to hit it W-F and either Saturday or Sunday unless DH and I go for a hike on Saturday.
QOTW: I have oh so many weaknesses but I think ice cream is my weakness and it’s because I can’t control the portion sizes – I never seem to be satisfied with the right portion.
@holdingouthope Nice job on the weight loss! And way to rock the gym!
@jlworden710 Good luck in your surgery today. I’m impressed that you worked out right until surgery time – I would have found some sort of excuse to give up last week J And taking some time for surgery is not “bad” – it’s necessary.
@morethansparrows08 Looks like you and I are in the same boat – back on track this week! I tried to convince DH yesterday that he should run the marathon next year – physically he can do it and I think it’s something that he would be super proud of.
@mrsg80intn Nice number on the scale!!!! You are definitely going to hit your goal before vacation! Keep up the great work!
@peledreamsofrain Isn’t it so great when people notice that you’ve lost weight? Best feeling! Looks like you are doing great!
@megrae12 Way to keep up the healthy eating and water intake while feeling under the weather. Are you feeling better now?
@grailseeker14 Shake off the weight gain – it could be anything – including water retention. Congrats on not letting AF get the best of you completely! That’s a hard thing to do. (So jealous of taco trucks – there are none around here L )
@hawkward I think that is a great plan. Don’t let yourself be tied to the numbers on the scale – I know that I am guilty of it. You can do it!
@meganwelch Sorry that the doc gave you less than great news L It looks like you have a great plan – shake off vacation and meds and concentrate on right now! You can do it!
@km380 Welcome! I used to do WW for years but really stopped doing it when they switched the programs again! I debate going back to it once in a while but never take that final step. Anytime the scale doesn’t go up is a victory! Great plan this week – get it done!
@liamadi1 Great job on the water intake! It’s so beneficial to drink once you can get in the habit of it. Shake off the chocolate – don’t worry about it! I’ve been thinking about the C25K program as well but I’m not sure my knees would care for it.
@megdowntheshore Hi Meg! Hope you had a blast on your trip! Nice job on not gaining any weight! Good luck on Sunday – you are going to do great!
@buttercup509 Way to go on the weight loss! You have a great plan – you’ll do fantastic this week!

THE GOOD: I have been under my calorie intake every day for a week per My Fitness Pal.
THE BAD: Easter.. and chocolate.
THE PROUD: I have been making myself a delicious smoothie with flax seed, almond milk, mixed berries and a banana every morning for a healthy breakfast, and I have made it to the gym 3 times already this week! YAY!
THE PLAN: Continue using My Fitness Pal. Increase my water intake (I am usually so good about this at work, but at home [vacation this week] not so much). Get to the gym 2 more times this week!
QOTW: If you had to pick one food weakness, what would it be - what can you not resist? Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. UGH.
