    @trombgirl‌ - my OB said everything looked ok. He said if there was reason to worry, the doctor would have told me at the time of the ultrasound. All in all, I kind of feel dumb about it. Is not like I didn't like the picture, it's that i was told, I am at high risk for cleft palate, bc of the medication I'm on.
  • I mentioned that it was fixable, because things can be done about it, unlike the losses on the board. Was it the right word? No not at all. But at least things can be done about it. I am aware of the difficulties of a child born with a cleft palate.

    The little girl in my classes has had other issues and was in surgery on and off her entire first year of life. Thanks to her supportive parents and doctors, she is now a healthy and beautiful little girl who acts just like the rest of the my first graders. In fact, the only reason I knew about it was because her mother mentioned it to me during our first parent teacher conference. Otherwise, I would have never known.

    @crystalangel79, I hope your friend's LO is able to develop in the same fashion as my student.

    @brittneyandadam‌, yes, I went to amc for the level 2.. I was told they are known to be rude and are conserved to be anything but "warm".. I have a choice between them or Samaritan for when I deliver. It's deff not gna be amc
  • MBanoMBano member
    @MermaidsMagic‌, sorry. I thought I mentioned it was a category c..

    @brittneyandadam‌ is it on the top floor, above the cvs?

    Yep! Thats them. Yeah...AMC is such a high volume facility, they pretty much treat you like cattle. That being said, they're great at what they do...a u/s tech there would never sacrifice a quality scan if they were in a bad mood. Thwir standards are way too high for that.
    Just be aware that Samaritan doesn't have a NICU...I love the delivery center they have there, but I just don't want to risk having to transport a sick baby in case anything happens...so I'm going to St. Pete's

  • I never saw the post, I clearly see you being reamed...and luckily it's early and I just ate so I'm more jolly than usual...I'll just say good luck to you and your baby, I hope he or she does not have any issues. Next time though when you want to post, honestly just look at the titles of the first page threads..they'll give you a general idea of the boards mood. Always read first post last.

    @brittneyandadam‌ - my OB said they have limited rights at St. Peter's. That was my first choice, but She told me St. Peter's doesn't feed the moms there. Samaritan has the burdett care center. Who is ur OB?

    OB/Gyn Health Center Associates out of Troy. I have an appt with my fave OB on Friday and I want to talk to ask him what he thinks. My insurance has already approved the St. Pete's delivery but if everything is looking good and he's not concerned, I may switch. Again, my biggest concern is the whole NICU thing

    @brittneyandadam‌ - We may have the same OB! Are one of the doctors Dr. Ford?

    Edit, I forgot to tag you :)
