AW: I quit my job today

I am going to finish out the dance season (6 weeks and 5 days, but who's counting?) and then teach 3-4 classes over the summer (if the director wants me to). But after that I'm done.
I have been wanting to do this for a couple of years. I have a contract that says that I can't work at another studio within a 10 mile radius of the studio for one calendar year after my contract ends. I want to clear my contract so that I can open my own studio. The location that I have chosen is within the 10 mile radius, so that's why I have made this choice.
It will also give me a year to spend time with Brennon and take care of things in my house that I have put aside -- projects, crafts, etc. It will also give me a year to really plan for my studio. I am sad to leave some of my students, and really anxious about how the studio director will react. She is my best friend's sister, so we obviously have a personal relationship too. But that's part of the reason why I need to leave. I don't agree with her business practices. And I do a lot for the studio that is uncompensated. A lot. If I'm going to be working so hard, I want it to be for a vision that I feel strongly about, and for a business that is my own. Not someone else's business.
I still have to work with her for the next almost 7 weeks. I'm really anxious because she can be crazy. Case in point -- she chased me around a dressing room last year because I told her I needed her to leave me alone for a little while (she was acting like a lunatic, and I needed space). There were three other competitive level instructors who left last year because of her antics; I am the only one who stayed. But now it's time.
