anyone want to do a BOOK CLUB?

I'm noticing on the latest GTKY that a lot of us really like to read!!! I would really love to do a book club with you ladies, as I have never done one before and have always wanted to.

I don't really know how they work but I imagine we pick a book, read it, and then talk about it? Haha.

I've been in a reading mood!

I'm in too.... anything non-pregnancy would be great!! It can be my little escape. I feel like I am reading parenting and pregnancy books constantly so I would appreciate something different. Count me in.

The hubby and I are reading the dark tower series together, and I just finished Jurassic Park and The Lost World.

I'm pretty open to practically any books, but I am a fan of historical fiction, fantasy, and science-y things. I'm so glad there's such an interest! Life gets pretty boring for me in the summers between semesters and with DH deploying, I will need something to occupy my time!

Goodreads has a list of popular book club books if we need help choosing something!

I'm in! The Book Thief was awesome--one of those books that qualifies as young adult but is great for not-so-young adults. I was very interested in reading The Goldfinch too, so that gets my vote.

I'd be interested, depending on the book! I like to read graphic novels :-P but of course I read traditional books, as well! I *love* memiors, but I also enjoy a good, compelling fiction, mainly sci-fi or supernatural stuff, or comedies! I've always wanted to read David Sedaris - I saw him do a live reading once and it was hilarious!

I wanna join.

I read the Book Thief last month, it is a great book, but pretty emotional. I would certainly be up for reading it again.

The Gold Finch is on my list and I have read the first two books from the Divergent series and those were pretty good.

Other books on my list for the year are Gone Girl, Miss Peregrin's Home for Peculiar Children and The Perks of Being a Wallflower. I like most all genres...the Game of Thrones books are great, but pretty long.

Usually a few suggestions are given and somebody makes a poll for everybody to vote for their favorite.

Well, in that case, I haven't read The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, but would like to - I just figured most people will have read it!

Other books on my to-read list are Water for Elephants and Charles Darwin's Origin of Species (which I doubt anyone else actually wants to read).

I would probably participate! I love to read, but with the last book club I was in I read Say You're One of Them (a collection of terribly sad short stories about life in Africa) and it kinda ruined me. I cried so much the whole time I read it, that I've basically read juvenile fiction ever since, haha! So as long as it isn't terribly sad, I'm down to read an adult book again.
