Nappies!?!

For all those STM out there, how many dirty nappies should babies have at a week old??
I've got health professional seeing us today she is being breast feed with an oz of formula top up, and my LO is have a dirty nappies every time we change her. Is this normal? Or is it due to mixing milks??
Worrying a bit about this.

Re: Nappies!?!

  • Normal. Good, in fact! Don't worry.

  • 6- 8 wry and 2-3 dirty diapers. But when I had my son, he had dirty diapers almost every time we changed him. Well exceeding the guidelines. Then he would go a day or two without pooping. It's all normal. The pedi said if babies go more than 3-4 days without pooping, then to call. But we never had to. Every baby is different so don't worry unless you notice a big drop in the number.

  • Range of normal goes from a dirty nappy after every feeding, pretty much, to the baby pooping once a week.

As long as baby looks happy and is having plenty of wet nappies there's no need to worry. Ask your pedi for reassurance, but baby poop sounds good to me.
