For the last 3 weeks I have been dealing with severe itching. After talking about it in my December Mom's group, a couple of friends informed me about ICP. After getting blood work done, it was confirmed that I have mild ICP, which is cholestasis in pregnancy. So basically, my liver isn't breaking down bile properly and bile salts are making their way into my blood. Not terrible for mom aside from itching (mostly affects hands, feet, and extremities), but has serious risk for baby (fetal distress and even worse, stillbirth).
I am now on Urso meds to sequester the bile salts and alleviate some of the itching, I have to get twice-weekly NST's to check on Isaiah, blood draws weekly to monitor bile salt levels, growth ultrasounds (had my first one today and another at 35 weeks), and delivery will be induced around 37 weeks. There's a lot going on!
At today's ultrasound, Isaiah looked great. He has a weight estimate of 5lbs, 5oz, which is what the average 35-36 week baby weighs. He's about 1.5lbs bigger than the average 32 week baby, but my amniotic fluid is low. I have to go in for another ultrasound next week to check fluid levels again and if they remain low or decrease even more, he may need to be delivered even sooner! I'm requesting prayers that our health stays steady, and that if he must come early, that he will be okay! TIA from a stressed and worried mama!

Hang in there
I know it can be scary, I was induced at 37 weeks with DD for ICP and she did amazing! She was a perfectly healthy 6lbs 7oz, no issues after birth, stayed with us and went home with us. Your doctor is doing all the right things for monitoring and all of the research shows that issues with ICP tend to happen after 37 weeks which is why they deliver early.
I am Just waiting to be diagnosed with this pregnancy. My dr has been amazing and anytime I feel itching she will send me for labs. Last night was the second night in a row I had itching so I am thinking I will get my bloodwork on Monday.
Please feel free to PM me, I know it can be scary, but the most important thing is that they caught it now and are monitoring your little man!
T&P!
