    Oh, you mean that guy who peed in the reservoir? They drain them when that happens. It's really dumb, I don't understand it at all.

    It's an open reservoir with ducks swimming in it. Duck poop = okay. 4oz of human pee = not okay.

    That's what I don't get...it's open. Pee is probably not the worst thing in there...decaying dead duck at the bottom? Worse than pee IMO.

    I think they do fish dead animals out from time to time.

    It pisses me off that they don't really prosecute people for doing it, either. If you are gonna waste that much water, at least fine the DH responsible, make him to community service, something.

    Quite a few people don't realize that reservoir is the last step before the water comes into your house. They don't filter or treat it again.

    My DH works for our city's water department, and we can't understand how it's ok for treated water that goes out to the customers is completely uncovered and open to people, wildlife, etc. You can't guarantee quality water that way, it's crazy!

    Oh man, don't even suggest that they cap those reservoirs to anyone. He city has tried several times and the backlash was ridiculous.

    To be fair, it's a pretty place to visit and it would be sad to tamper with it. But the logic behind what they are doing is flawed, I think.
