@wareagle1220 - I know! I was going to text you. But I read that you had a dr appt in the afternoon and I didn't want to bother you with my nonsense I'm sorry. I hope your appointment went well and the clot is healing itself up!
@lest12 I don't know if this has already been mentioned and discarded as an option, but can you eat beef? Broccolli is also an excellent iron source, as are canned sardines (in oil) and oysters and clams (though sardines are a better bet due to lower mercury levels, because they are so low on the food chain and they don't filter feed like mollusks.) (ETA: liver is also a really good source but it's not always best for pregnant ladies i think i've read?)
Tofu is good if you can't do meat, and so are pumpkin seeds and beans.
Anyway, i hope you get your levels up and you stay well!
I normally love me some read meat, but not while pregnant apparently. Truthfully, and DH and my mom have both noticed and scolded me about it, my heartburn has been so bad (even with Zantac) that it's killed my appetite. I can't seem to eat much of anything without getting sick with reflux. I'm going to ask my doctor about that tomorrow.
BUT I didn't know about broccoli or mollusks, both of which I will try because they do sound more appealing than red meat lately. And I should find a way to get more beans in regularly. I'll have to look some recipes up.
Thanks @lyracelesti
