DD is 10 months and has been BF until now. Unfortunately I have several business trips coming up in May/early June and after a review of my freezer stash I don't have enough to get her through all my travel. My supply barely keeps up with her so saving additional between now and then isn't realistic so formula it is. We basically need to supplement one bottle a day to keep her on BM until we transition to milk at a year. My question is how would you introduce it at this point.- a whole bottle of formula or a couple ounces mixed with BM per bottle or does it even matter? DH thinks it would be "easier" to do her first AM bottle of formula since she will be hungriest and I would get the most out of pumping, but I think she will likely tolerate a mix better since it will taste different than what she is used to.
Also she was MSPI but seems to be tolerating soy ok now (through BM - haven't tried solids) but not dairy. Would you go straight to something like Alimentum or see if she does ok on a soy based formula.
