Weaning EBF to milk in week??

Is that ok? My LO just turned 1 on 4/13 and was EBF until that point. He has been eating dairy for awhile though. Only reason I ask is because my BM freezer supply isn't huge so I don't think I'll have much past a  week to be able to wean him. TIA!!

  • I weaned DD1 at 11.5 months, well I started. It took a while. Be prepared for that. I had to mix half milk half BM for a while.

  • should be fine. like PPs said, mix your BM with a little WCM, gradually putting in more and more WCM. then you can stretch it out to 2 weeks or so if you want. my DS loved WCM, though, so we had no problems getting him to drink it.

1.EBF= no food besides BM. I hope you've introduced solids.
    2. What does a freezer stash have to do with it? Were you EPing?
You can give WCM during the day and still nurse LO morning and night. It's best for mom to drop one feeding session every 2-3 days (or longer), not to cold turkey quit BFing from doing it full time/on demand.

I assumed EBF meant no formula or WCM introduced yet. Of course he's been getting solids.

My supply is basically nothing now and with my weird work schedule we aren't nursing on a regular basis now. So I'm weaning with mixing my freezer stash and WCM. I have nursed him every other day for a few days now.
