Hi everyone, I'm new here. I'm 36 and this is my first pregnancy being over 35. I'm wondering if anyone has any advice? Are there certain tests I should be asking for or if I'm offered I should get? I'm just now starting to do my research on everything. Thanks in advance ladies!
Re: First pregnancy after 35, any advice?
Hi - Congrats!
I had my first at 36. The NT screening between 11 - 13 weeks 6 days which is pretty much offered to most women. Also, since you're AMA, I would check into Materniti21, Harmony, Panorama, etc testing. Many insurances cover it for AMA patients. It's basically a blood test where fetal DNA is extracted and you can find out early about risk for certain trisomies, etc as early as 10 weeks. It's more accurate than the NT screening however the NT screening will tell you things these tests will not, my doc does both.
Good luck!
1st BFP-8/17/12! Missed Miscarriage discovered @ 8 week US. D&C.
2nd BFP-2/13/13! Blighted Ovum discovered @ 8 week US. Natural miscarriage.
3rd BFP-5/22/13! By early June, progesterone plummeting. Another loss.
August 2013 - started Donor Egg process, but surprise BFP with my own eggs.
Dear Son born 5/28/14
My advice is to stay positive and enjoy every minute. It is such an amazing experience. Good luck!
Congrats!
