Talk About it Tuesday

I'm sure I've exceeded the appropriate amount of posts for a day, but LO is not feeling well so we are stuck inside, and he has been asleep more so than usual so I am bored.

Post your rants, raves, randoms here.

1.  We had weather for all seasons in the course of the day yesterday.  Now it is cold outside and we are all bundled up.  I am waiting for the warm to stay.

image

2.  A few days ago, I was talking to LO while making a plate of food at a party, and I said "No you can't have that!  You need teeth for that." while he reached for a hard candy I wouldn't give him even if he had teeth, and this lady with a 10 month old looked at me and said, "Oh! A late teether? That's too bad. My baby had teeth at 4 months," while handing her baby the candy.

image

3.  DS1'd biological father (they have not relationship because of a long ass story that happened long ago although I do take him to see the family on holidays sometimes)  texts me to tell me that DS1 will have a new baby sister in September, and he wanted to tell me before I heard it somewhere else.  See above gif for my reaction.

Apparently the baby is not his (as of a week ago) ex-wife's and not his current 41 (he is 28) year old girlfriend's, but rather his 19 (ish) year old ex girlfriend's baby.
image

He then tells me, "who would have thought- 3 babies by 3 different baby momma's!"

image

Yes, I procreated with and briefly date  this (when I was young and dumb)!  Another long story.

image

I feel like I might have to change my screen name to something less obvious so I can share my stories.

  • Yikes, he sounds like a winner!

Exhausted here today. Dd1 was up all night, throwing up every half hour from 8:30-5. Poor kid. And today is Grand Day at school where grandparents come and have lunch with the kids and they give them cards and books they made for them. She's really bummed she is missing it. I feel bad for the poor thing, she must be exhausted.

Poor thing.  Maybe they can take her out to a special lunch when she feels better, and she can give it to them then.  I hope she gets well soon.

  • Jude picked up some sickness at the Easter party last Saturday and now we are all sick. It's much sadder to see someone so little not feeling good.

@cdhaslag I will change LO if he is really wet at night.  I just try my hardest to not wake him.  Have you tried a different type of diaper?? LO was soaking through the Pampers Swaddlers at night, but we switched to baby dry and don't have that problem anymore.

ETA:  I apparently can't comprehend things today because it seem you cloth diaper and are researching them! Duh! Hopefully you can find one that works better than what you are using.

@tashad18‌ I switched her from swaddlers to baby dry too and she still soaks them. She sleeps on her stomach so I think it fills the front part and then just leaks out after that. I usually just change her once MOTN and once as soon as she wakes up and both of those diapers are crazy heavy!
I don't know what size your baby wears, but our store only had pampers cruisers in a size three so we tried them.  It says on the box that it's their driest diaper.  Maybe that'll work?

What is with MILs??! I was away this weekend and DH took DS to his moms house and told me that she would scrape the salt off potato chips and let DS lick it off her finger...WHYYYYYY??!!! Ugh at least I wasn't there
  • Baby girl is sick, again. I'm so thrilled that she won't be returning to daycare until I get a job (possibly midsummer after I pass NCLEX. ) She's staying with DH on my last clinical and school days for the semester. She was out for 2 weeks during my spring break and the week after and her runny nose finally went away. One week back and she was back to congestion and coughing.

She spiked a fever Saturday night that still isn't going away so we're at the pediatrician now. Waiting for her RSV and Flu test results and the radiology report on her chest x-ray. Poor thing. She's been to the Dr and ER waaay too often since birth (jaundice that continued for months, a fever when she was only 2 weeks old, upper respiratory infection with wheezing and a stomach virus that caused alot vomiting whi led to dehydration. ) I'm looking forward to the end of cold/flu/RSV season!

After almost 3 years of IF and a crazy roadside delivery, we are loving life with our second beautiful daughter! Lilypie First Birthday tickers

  • Wow, what a story!

We were up all night with a teething & screaming baby (I'm really hope that's the reason for this hell). Tylenol did not seem to help very long so I called the Dr today and got the okay for Motrin. I am praying for a better night. Also, I called daycare to see how he was and they said great and he took a good long nap. No shit, he was up alllll night! WTF.

I have not accomplished anything at work today.

I just wasn't very clear - I use disposables on her but I'm considering CDs for bed time to see if they will help!
@cdhaslag DS is a heavy wetter too. I just bought some hemp inserts for my BG 4.0 diapers. Kelly's Closet suggested wrapping the hemp insert around the BG insert for night. Hemp is supposed to be super absorbent. I'll let you know how it goes!

I still can't shake this ear infection and it's beginning to drive me crazy. Also this whole thing where DD wants to be up playing around in her crib for 1-2 hours in the middle of the night is not helping matters. It could be worse and she could be crying or upset but regardless #mamaneedssleep. I've spent all morning researching CDs. I don't know how so many people can go without changing LO all night. I tried once this week and she peed the bed so that was awesome. It makes me wonder if she would ever be able to sleep all night since she's such a heavy wetter.

We often have  to change tilly but bamboo does help stretch it. We have the pop-in bamboo diapers if that helps.

  • @cdhaslag‌ we've been having the same problem with leaking through overnight diapers. They baby dry pampers worked great up until about a week ago. All I can figure is bc he's a tummy, butt in the air sleeper it just leaks easier. The worst is he's peed on me twice now during MOTN feedings! Let me know if you have any luck with something!

I was JUST thinking this! We were having luck with the pampers overnights but lately in the am she literally is covered in pee. She is sleeping on her side now so idk if that has sometbing to do with it. she will not cry if she is wet (literally) though...we started changing her in the MOTN now but I don't want to wake her just to change her diaper! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • My random: it's cold and pouring out. My little nap fighter finally fell asleep in the car, so we've been hanging out in the driveway for a good 20 minutes so far. Do other people do this too??

    You know Joey & I do! ;) lol @sweettwilight16‌

  • I have a "friend" who has basically been a "b" to me since day 1 of our friendship. She goes back & forth between pretending to care about me to full out ignoring me/avoiding me for weeks on end. Right now, we are at the latter. Next wk DH & I are going to IL for a derby and we are riding with them. I texted her today to see what kind of snacks she wanted me to bring, asked if she had a sitter for their dog, etc. I also informed her that I will be getting a needle biopsy on my thyroid the morning that we leave. Her response: "Idc." WTAF?!

I honestly have no idea why I continuously try to be her friend, to be nice, etc. Part of it is probably because DH and her boyfriend are best friends, he was the best man in our wedding. So I don't want to make things awkward for them. But she is on my post-it & could deft use a throat punch. /end rant.

DH has been working the last three nights at his second job (on top of working during the day too) so we haven't spent any time together since Saturday.  He got up at LO's 2:45 AM breathing treatment with me and made me laugh the whole time with his garter routine using LO's headband and doing stupid stuff to get LO to stop crying.  I sure do miss that big lug!

    You got a good one!

She's a bitch. You don't deserve a friend like that. Let your husband and his BFF be friends, but you don't need To hang out with her or be buddy buddy. Sorry she was rude :(
Thank you! I have a real problem with ppl not liking me and I seem to treat those who treat me like garbage, like gold. I've gotten a lot better with that tho. Before I used to go out of my way to do nice things for her, whereas now I barely talk to her like she does to me.

Thank you for making me feel better about it, I needed that! :)
