DH lost his wedding ring. Anyone know of any cool, not too expensive ones out there?

DH took his ring off at the zoo yesterday when he was putting sunscreen on the boys, and left it on the bumper.  Either someone picked it up or we drove off and left it in the parking lot.
So now I need to find him a new ring, and I don't want to spend a lot.  I think this will be his third or fourth in ten years.  : (
It doesn't have to be traditional.  He doesn't like yellow gold.  Any ideas?

  • H lost his platinum band a while ago. I said he could either go without one or buy a super cheap one. We got a tungsten band on Amazon for $50 and it is nice!

Yes, he lost one at the Y when he took it off to play basketball, and I think he lost one down the heating vent.  Although he said he got that one out.  He is not allowed to wear it to work.

  • we got one at a mall kiosk for cheap- it's black tungsten.

his wedding band is a claddagh. it was his grandfathers and he doesn't want to ruin it or lose it. so we got him the cheap one to wear to work and such.
  • My husband has a titanium wedding band- we have been married 9 years and it still looks new.  My DH has a job were it has been exposed to all sorts of stuff (he is a facility manager for a pharma company and is very hands on).  I think I paid $100 when I bought it.

I had/have a lot of swelling issues so ended up buying a basic men's band and it was $145 for a basic gold band from our local jeweler...  It sounds like YH is similar to DH - I finally hit a point when I saw it surface one time I put it back in the box and it was six-months later that DH said "I don't know where my ring is, I haven't seen it in about a year..."..  He doesn't wear his ring because his Dad knew someone who lost their finger falling from some scaffolding and caught it on the ring...  Perfectly logical considering DH works a desk job KWIM...  Most jewelers have basic bands that you can pick up otherwise sometimes they also have estate pieces you can purchase reasonably too...

One thought is to have it engraved with his first name and your phone number  - that way when he loses the next one he can be located if someone finds it LOL

  • DD lost his {fell between the carseats and we both watched it happen but could never find it} and we never replaced it. We went to buy one, but they were so expensive and with no meaning behind the replacement we just skipped it.
  • DH's ring is titanium and I got it through boonerings.com, I think. He's been very happy with it.

  • My DH had a tungstun carbide ring. We got it for $30 on overstock.com. He actually had it fall off in the shower once and it dented the faucet! He is a aircraft mechanic and cannot wear it to work because it scratches the planes he works on!

  • We got DH a tungsten one from Overstock to leave at work because he always forgets to put his on in the morning.  It looks very similar to this real one.

  • DH lost his platinum wedding band a few years ago and just recently replaced it with a tungsten carbide band from Amazon.  DH loves it, it has been durable, and looks nice.  It was about $30.
