We always have a chicken and broccoli dish that my grandma used to make (my sister makes it now) with rolls and fruit salad. The ILs do ham, prime rib, potatoes, and potluck sides.
ILs usually have ham and kielbasa, a cheesy potato dish, salad, some other veggie, bread, Jello eggs, and deviled eggs. I volunteered to make something, since MIL is hosting the big get-together, but I don't know what she's going to ask me to do yet....
My family usually makes roast lamb, a potato dish (a common one is red potatoes with butter and dill), asparagus, and some kind of bread.
Kielbasa, ham, beets, horseradish, sauerkraut, hard boiled eggs, paska, farmer's cheese, butter. Most of it has been taken to church and blessed the day before. It's super traditional, but I actually love it. I'm always dying for some veggies later though.
We grill burgers every year! It's relaxing to grill out and let the kids hunt eggs and play! Plus you have a newborn! I would definitely cook whatever is easiest for you.
We usually do lamb, either mashed or scalloped potatoes, a green veg (it's almost always green beans, don't know why), and salad. Sometimes there are rolls, depends if I feel like making them/thought to buy them at the store that week.
But, seriously, I'd just do burgers and dogs on the grill since it's kinda last minute and you have a newborn.
I'm planning to make some Korean food for Easter. Weird, I know!! But only my brother, his fiancé and my ILs are coming and they're way excited - haha! I'm gonna make short ribs, fried rice, kim chee (gonna actually buy this because I don't like to make it), and egg rolls. Yumm!!
What do you typically eat for Easter lunch/dinner? I just found out the inlaws will be here and I will be cooking #-o
With a newborn! I would completely do the burgers and dogs mentioned above. Pffftt. Sounds wonderful to me, I don't necessarily see the need for a "formal" Easter dinner or anything when you likely have a lot on your plate. And when is BBQ not good? I'd eat BBQ any day of the year. You could do that with a bunch of sides- perfect.
My mom is hosting this year and we're doing ham with all the sides. And some lemon cake for dessert, I think.
We will be camping that weekend and are coming home in the early afternoon. ILs are coming over at 5... I'm ordering a meal from my local grocery store.

Good luck w/ the cooking/hosting!

I am seriously considering this. It would be tons less work for me and easy.

We go to my parents for a large brunch and my in laws for dinner. We do ham and turkey, potatoes, and green vegetables. Pretty basic.
I would do a honey baked ham as well if I were you-super easy. Is anybody bringing anything?
