Dropping pumping

edited April 2014 in Breastfeeding
I have 10 day old twins and I was pumping after every feeding to establish supply and bc they didn't latch well so they would end each session with a bottle of pumped breast milk. Now one is exclusively nursing and the other is getting really close. Can I just cut out the pumping at this point? I went to every other session yesterday and wasn't sure if I should slowly step it down so my breasts realize they can produce a little less (right now even if I only pump for 5 min I can produce enough for LO for th whole day) or just go cold turkey.

I'm trying to make it so I don't have to deal with a huge oversupply issue and would love to not have to pump all the time! Thanks for any advice!

Re: Dropping pumping

  • No advice, but if you can pump enough for a whole day in 5 minutes, you've got major oversupply issues already. Good luck!

  • Haha I meant I can pump enough in 5 min for the small amount I need to supplement her with bottles. Thankfully not at that point of oversupply yet!
