2nd Trimester

If you think someone's post is ridiculous or stupid or whatever... Why not just ignore?!

Just had to vent ... We all come across postings on these websites that make our eyes roll or we think are ridiculous at times but instead of posting mean comments... Why not back out of the posting and ignore?
A lot of us have moments of freaking out over something we did or didn't do so we post on here seeking comfort, guidance or just needing to vent and the last thing we need in those moments is someone making us feel like we're stupid for asking what we asked or feeling what we feel!

Ok I am done!

  • There are plenty of forums for fluff out there - ladies on TB are more than willing to give advice and be supportive for valid causes. However, silly things, such as OMG yogurt n milkshakes are generally going to get some...For Reals?? Many here have a knack for the snark, as PP have said it's the tone of the board. I personally find these forums very humorous/entertaining on a daily basis. I haven't come across anyone commenting out of attack or cruelty, just being blunt and honest. Best part is you have every right to ignore whatever you choose...it's a free internets!!!

  • Well it's about time someone said this!!!

No, but srsly. You're not the first to make this post and you won't be the last. Do you honestly think that you're bringing a new perspective to the boards? You will not make the many people on here think differently based on your opinion. Obviously TB is not for you, so run along now...

No, you absolutely do need to know if you're freaking out over something stupid.

I'm really really glad this place is real and snarky, because seriously, have you SEEN the stupid that being 'nice and supportive' no matter what creates??? Baby Gaga Example Here This place is the best kind of supportive. I like the comment a pp made about her sister... we're there to hold your hand and help you if you need us and we're there to laugh at you and tell you you're being ridiculous if you need that too.

Sometimes I panic about ridiculous stuff and call my sister.  Sometimes my sister tries really hard to tell me to calm the hell down, but sometimes she just busts out laughing and says "Joy, what?  STOP IT."

I liken the stupid posts with snarky answers to my sister in those situations.  Sometimes, you have to be told you're being ridiculous.  It's really for everyone's benefit.

EDIT: I'm finding the OP's name to be incredibly hilarious.
All of this. Pregnancy brings out the crazy. Sometimes a person needs to be told to dial it down a bit.

  • OP there are a few select lurkers on the 2nd tri board. Some of whom aren't even pregnant. They were here before I entered my 2nd tri and remained here now that I've moved on. I suggest that you just stick to your month board and just ignore this place if it bothers you. Sadly they aren't going anywhere, anytime soon. Supposedly it's the Internet and they can do what they want!

I don't get it. If you're here looking for "comfort and guidance", then why wouldn't you want people on here who have been there done that??? Cutrently pregnant or not? And if the answer isn't what you wanted to hear, then the question was probably not worth posting in the first place.
  • Damn it. I'm a mom so I should know better...

My husband sure is sad to have me as a wife, huh?

Yes. If you walked up to me at a cocktail party and handed me a profile shot of your baby's head while in utero and asked me if it was a boy or girl, I'd respond "looks like a baby!" there too. Then I'd laugh a little, you'd laugh a little and we'd all have a drink. Sarcasm is real life too. ETA: if anyone ever showed me a urine pregnancy test that they'd used their blood on, I'd puke first, and then I'd definitely point out how stupid they are.
see, I think I'd just force a smile and walk away. or is it cooler to pull up a sarcastic GIF on my phone to show in response?

It's not cooler, it's just different. Shocking, I know, the world is made of all kinds of people. :-O

See the difference is that I don't think you're a terrible person for being silly, but you do think I'm a terrible person for being sarcastic about your silliness. This whole argument is juvenile. How about if you make a post and get responses you don't like, then go ahead and ignore those. If you ask a question, you're bound to get answers, whether you like them or not. It's not all "here's my question, but only answer if you agree with me!" Or "go ahead and disagree, but only use words that I like..."

And I'm lol-ING at your GIF comment since I've never put one up, but if you GIF'd me in real life, I bet we'd be friends.
  • Omg @gachimayaa‌ , you're just like us!

My Ma says whatever you dream, you have the opposite.

    really? b/c during 1st tri I dreamt I had a cat. :(
