Recipe Ideas NBR

I'm looking for dinner ideas that I can prepare, then freeze and bake later in the week. I want to start picking a day where I prepare 3 or 4 dinners and then freeze them and cook when needed; in other words save them for when I don't feel like cooking. Does anyone have any recipes or ideas that I could try?

Re: Recipe Ideas NBR

  • Lasagna is my go to for freezer meals. I like the Williams Sonoma one the best. I'm having trouble linking on my phone but it's called Lasagna and has a pic of a preteen baking.

  • I recently needed some freezer meal recipes and these ones seemed pretty easy: https://www.marthastewart.com/274277/freezer-friendly-foods

I made the Irish Meat Pie one and it worked well as a freezer meal.

  • I do things like buy a bunch of chicken, fish, ground beef/turkey. Then I portion things into freezer bags according to what I'd use to make a meal, and add different marinades. The meat marinates as it freezes and thaws, so it's yummy!

    Things that we like are:
cook ground meat with taco seasoning and freeze
sloppy joes (again, cook before freezing)
slice chicken or beef and freeze with onions and peppers and fajita seasoning
season beef or turkey to make burger patties for grilling
season ground beef or turkey with Italian seasoning and diced peppers, onions, mushrooms to make a base for meat sauce (you can also cook this ahead, toss in a jar of marinara and freeze)
sliced chicken marinated in teriyaki with stir fry veggies
fish fillets with olive oil and lemon pepper OR lemon, garlic, and rosemary
cut up whole chicken with olive oil, garlic and rosemary
pork tenderloin with any herb blend - italian, teriyaki, etc. (you can buy these pre marinated - they just have a ton of salt so I like doing my own)

There's a ton of stuff on Pinterest (but honestly, most of it is pretty hit or miss). You might also look into something like Wildtree, where you buy spices and they give you a menu of 10 meals to prep and freeze. (They do parties where you have people come over and prep together, which is fun).

  • There are many things... I can't even think of them all right now, Lasagna, stuffed shells, enchiladas, ravioli, pot roast (potato and veg in with it and dump in a slow cooker), stew, many soups.... umm, Sheppard pie, homemade pizza, baked spaghetti, Swedish meatballs, Hawaiian chicken, stuffed chicken breast, chili mac, mac n cheese (I add bacon. mmm), the list goes on and one.
