  • @KH826 - Fwiw, if I need a c-section I very much hope it is scheduled vs. happening after 48 hours of labor! I'm with you - no one really wants a c-section, but healthy baby/healthy mom is the goal for sure. Meanwhile, I will send some flipping energy to your baby! Does your OB attempt a version? I asked about this (ours was breech on friday, but head down on Tuesday, so there you have it) - she said they will attempt a version before scheduling a c-section. Cute PIP! You look great!

@2mamazinseattle - we talked to our OB about a version yesterday to make her flip, and we decided against it. It is risky to mom and baby and can be painful for mom. We have been doing nightly exercises at home to encourage her to flip, but that is all that we have decided we will do. If baby doesn't want to flip, we don't want to force her, and nothing to jeopardize her health or force an emergency section if we can avoid it. So, we will go with the flow and let baby decide how she wants to be born. My OB is very wise and has been at this a while and said yesterday "Usually if a baby has been in breech position for 1/2 of pregnancy and refuses to move, there is a reason. She is telling you mom that there is a reason why a vaginal birth is just not in the cards for the two of you." I have decided that I am OK with that. If she flips, great. If she doesn't, that's fine too.

@jrtmom - what a cutie pie you have there! Love those cheeks! :)

@KH826, sounds like your OB is all over it! I know a little bit about versions (like that they are painful for mom) but not a lot else about the risks. I know my doc mentioned they sometimes try them - but I didn't get into the risks, etc. Awesome you have a great plan! We do LOADS of exercises to turn babies in yoga, and from what you detailed the other day it sounds like those are the same kinds of exercises you are doing. (Some great YouTube videos are here of turn the baby moves!) I hope they work, but either way you are in good hands!
